upgrades do make car more fun to drive
Trying to figure this out. We are looking to possibly trade our fit for a CR-Z but if that doesn't happen I want to upgrade the suspension to make it more fun to drive.
Right now I'm on stock with a progress rear bar and the crummy stock tires. I plan to get much better tires in the spring. Little wider as well. (Yokohama S.Drives)
But what else is out there now? looks like this section has slowed down a bit
I definitely DO NOT want super low. inch or less in drop.
Want something we can more confidently sling it around in the twisty mountain roads where I live.

Not sure that the CR-Z will be that much more fun than a Fit unless you add power. And the CR-Z is being phased out.
Where the heck are the twisty roads near 'FU'?

I have a 2nd gen but that said, the Cusco Chassis brace added major rigidity increase on my car, a rear sway bar of any brand helps, and springs. I know after mid-brace, going over railroad tracks, expansion joints on a bridge, or concrete freeways. The differerence is amazing...

FU is just me not wanting to fill out the registration.

I added a rear sway bar, which definitely move the fun needle a bit, but once I replaced the stock springs with RS-R "Down" springs (which have a minimal drop), it really woke the car up. I'm still running stock dampers, and the ride, while stiffer, isn't kidney-rattling. Pics and video of me autocrossing are in my mod thread.

Swift springs or nothing for a daily IMO.

stuff like auto cross or even basic track days don't even require you to have such a seat and you can control the car just fine.

a race seat for a DD is not really something I would be suggesting to people. Most of them are junk and unsafe unless you want to spend mega bucks on a setup.

I guess it all depends on what you consider fun... I put a bucket in my otherwise stock suspension GK5 and even getting a starbucks was a lot more fun. You get more butt feel and you can control your feet much better which means you can heal-toe better. Just my experience...
