17" Wheel/tire size recommendation for 2015 (post pics too!)

Hello

I was excited for the new Fit and grabbed a silver '15 LX.

The only thing I would like to do is add some 17" wheels.
No plans to lower or anything like that.

Im assuming 17x7 is best, but what backspacing?
Also, recommended tire size for best ride?
(do not want any rubbing, not sure if that is an issue at stock height)

Thanks all for any advice

(Feel free to post pics of your 15 with 17's!)

I would say anywhere from +40 to +55 offset and for tires, 205/40R17

I don't know the EXACT specs of this wheel, but I assume it is 17x7 +42 offset with 205/40R17 tires. The car is slightly lowered from stock

I put 17x7 with +43 backspacing.
Tires are 205/45 and it looks perfect. Don't have any pics at the moment.

Thanks very much guys!

Accordguyintake: Looks great! I think 17" I just right for these guys.

Superfly: Im assuming stock height? If so, do you have any rubbing?
Id be interested in 45 series tires to retain as much of a "factory ride" as possible.

Now to decide what color wheels with the silver!

No rubbing. I still need to lower it so hopefully not then. The front is perfectly flush with the fenders, the rear is still inset about 1/2-3/4. I'll be putting some spacers on the rear after I lower it so it matches the front. FYI, 205/45 on 17's is the closest you will get to factory tire circumference.

For a 7" wide wheel you should be able to fit even a +30mm offset.

30 is probably a bit much if you don't want to deal with modifying the fender liners etc to deal with rubbing. Or, if you get camber bolts and dial in about 1-1.5 degrees of negative camber in the front, you'll be able to use 30 offset with no problem.

I'm pretty sure if you're stock height, you don't need to roll fenders or add negative camber for a +30et 7" wheel. There's enough room. Now if you were slammed, sure then you should roll your fenders with camber arms and camber plates

rubbed on 16x7 +40 and stock height. Sure, it's not a lot of rubbing but not everyone can put up with annoying rubbing sounds.

And I believe the only way to get camber on our cars is by using camber shims in the rear or camber bolts up front, no fancy arms or plates will work or are available on our cars :/

Running a 205 50 might be too tall. The tire size plays a huge part in whether or not it will rub. But this is good data on what not to do. Thanks

Just an fyi, I'm lowered with Tein S-techs with 17 x 7, 40mm offset rims with 205/45-17 tires. Front camber is set at -1 degree which is within the oem max spec.

Imho, If you want the tires to sit flush with the front fenders I'd suggest a 40mm and higher offset. Regarding the rears, you would have to run a wheel spacer to flush the rears. *You could also roll/pull your fenders plus dial in more negative camber to make your rims fit. By the way, GK's already have -1.7 camber on the rear from the factory. Hope this helps.

gents, I was looking to upgrade my wheels in the Spring and was looking at 17s as well. So a +40 offset would be flush and NOT rub on Tein S techs? I would lower the car around the same time I put the wheels on. I prefer an aggressive offset and the "stretched" tires look so please let me know what the most aggressive offset wheels (size/offset) and tires I could run front rear would be! TIA

+ 30 will poke allot, plus 42 pokes a few mm, stock offset is like +52/53.

How much poke are we talking about? Think about how much +40 et is compared to +53. That's only 13mm or 1.3 cm. that's not even enough to go past the fender.

That isn't that bad. You can still roll the fenders if you want. Poking is not as bad as rubbing.

Yes i agree the fitment is almost on point. With a little negative camber it will be perfect. But +30mm isn’t happening lol
