What are you guys running for offset?
#82
these tires are bigger diameter than OEM so you can bet they will rub.

I'm on 17x7.5 +40 and they rub no more than stock did.

the rim width fom 6 to 7"..
the trick is to be close to OEM tire diameter and width which these do.
we see lots on mounts of offsets. rims etc less than 45 mm and wider tires. but as long as they are close to OEM tire dimensions rub without serious bodywork.
as they found out serious bodywork affected their resale price. couple of them can't even sell. you can go to smaller diameter if wider but an inch less is pretty much all you can do.
good luck.

Oops, they are 17's. Too many sets of 18's in the garage...
No pics to upload here as hosting them somewhere to be able to display on here is annoying.
Tires are 205/45/17 and rub no more often than the stock 15's did.

what does rub no more than stock 15's mean? 205/45x15 tires on 17x7 wheels with 40 mm offset will rub.

As far as you telling me what my own vehicle will do with whatever wheel.... Let me just say that 205/45x15 will not fit on a 17x7 wheel regardless of offset.

I've been communicating with a guy on Craigslist that is selling a set of 16x8 Enkei tbs-11's. They've got an offset of +38 from what I've read. I don't understand much about wheel offset, and the more I read, the more I'm confused. In order to make these not rub (stock everything, just looking for winter or summer rims) what size tires would I have to buy without rolling my fenders?
Here are pics of the rims just after being sand blasted and primered. Needs tpms and tires.
Edit. Got them on my car with different tires on them. They look great! The problem is they rub a bit but only in the front. they stick out just a tiny bit. cutting the wheel all the way is fine though!

17 x 7 ET 42
I am currently running on 17x7 ET 42 on stock suspensions. (Tires are 205/45/17) On normal drives, there aren't any rubbing or whatsoever. However, hitting a dip at 80-90 mph proves otherwise. I believe the tires are hitting the fender arches. I am wondering if adding a bit of negative camber would resolve this issue.

takuya... those are some rad wheels. Mucho me gusta.
Just wanted to say thanks for this thread. I'm looking for wheels for the first time in my life (... my new to me GK is the first car I've ever purchased with steelies) and this thread was very helpful.
Looking at these now: https://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Whee...autoModClar=LX
OR: https://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Whee...autoModClar=LX
Not looking for anything super high end (obviously) just wanting something that will work and won't raise my cost of ownership with hyper-meta expensive tires.

Proof is in da pics....
2016 on tein s tech (ge8) and stock wheels
2013 on 17x7 momo revenge with +42 and 205/45. Tein S tech
I see errrrbody still on the fence about what wheels and tires to run, what fits, will it rub, etc etc. I had a 2013 and now a 2016. Look at the pics and judge for yourself. Both lowered on 2013 model Tein S springs. 2013 has momo revenge 17x7 +42 205/45. Minor liner/pin rubbing up front on hard dips and turns. Easily fixed as people have noted on here. So don’t be scurred. I bet you could run same set up with +40 and still be ok up front. It’s only 2mm.
My current 2016 is on stock wheels and from what most say on here and other sites, the fender well space up front on gk5 is identical or near identical to ge8. Sure that’s not a lot of space but as I just said, my old 2013 did just fine with the set up I noted earlier.
Anyone run similar set set up on a Gk5? Pics? Thank you

Thinking about running some 15x6.5 wheels next summer. Et38 should put me about even with a 7 inch wide wheel with a 45 offset (0.7mm difference).
195/55/15 tires and swift springs so I can survive the city streets.

Help
Ok so I'm looking for a second set of rims for my '07 sport so I can have a summer set and winter set, currently I have my snow tires on the factory alloys so ideally I'd just get something that looks ok and put my "summer" tires on those, I found some Bassett racing wheels for $64 each and are the DOT legal ones my question is can I run them without rubbing? They have the right bolt pattern and are 15x7 but I'm lost on offset and backspace. They are 15x7 with 0 offset and either 3" or 4" backspace. Can I run them or not? I really don't want to cut the fenders or run flares so if not is there something similar that will work?
