everyone has a different sense of proportion. 17s on a fit look too big; lowering the car helps but still looks wrong in my eyes. 15s or 16s are just right.
the worst of the worst is when someone gets the cheapest, biggest wheels with equally cheap tires. the wheels are stupid heavy, look ugly, and will probably bend or crack in a year or two. plus the crap tires, oh the horror. it's better to get a size down that looks proportional to the car while getting a good, strong wheel and tires that aren't shameful.
