Since I haven't seen anybody post topics of tail lights I thought I'd contribute and post one. Usually I'd just lurk in the background and read everybody elses posts.

Installation:

Installation of the tail lights were pretty simple. Just 3 bolts to unscrew for each tail light and you're done.

Bumps with the installation were the plugs/cable. The plugs for the right tail light were too short and wouldn't reach the plug sockets of the bulbs. I had to pull out the plastic panel on the right and above the bumper and cut out two of the cable holder/ties to give the plug for the right tail light more reach.

I also had to cut some of the electrical tape holding the plugs together to extend their reach further for the left and right side of the tail lights which was not difficult at all.

For those of you looking for pictures of a step by step install....I was too lazy to do that.

Looks great! It really changes the whole look of the back end. We need more pics from a further distance, too.

Does anyone know if there is a company making aftermarket tail lights for 09 fit yet or are the only options oem ones such as the one above and the JDM one?

 

Yes they are making them.... but...well have a look and make your own opinon ( cheap quality )

Oh. I guess some slack shall be given in that case. But still, any gastrointestinal disturbances due to pic of cars OR taillights, should be investigated.

i think i like the USDM ones better.

 

It's a toss up for me, they both (Actually there's 3 styles going on here, right?) look fine. I'll just save the $$....
