New guy selling his new GE8 FIT

Hi All,

It is unfortunate that my newly purchased GE8 has to be let go because of an immediate circumstances that I must leave the country in 42 days.

It has so far more less 3600 miles on it. It has a small scratch on the rear passenger side door (from a lady who doesn't care there is a brand new FIt parked right next to her Escalade; I hate that) and the rear trunk dent.

I paid 19,300 on it and I'm only asking 18500 for such a new car. The car would be priced around 20K if you are trying to buy it from the dealer. Trunk replacement (and painted) had been quoted for 800 from a local body shop and the main trunk assembly costs 464 and change plus tax and shipping from Honda itself.

Please call me at 650-278-9043 or you may send me e-mails through here.

Here are some pictures of my car when new.

Errr, good luck getting 18500. I got my new sport a few weeks ago from Stevens Creek Honda for 18363 out the door, after tax/lic. Why would I pay the same - more, for a car with miles, and a scratch?

Try lowering it.

I was just quoted $17580 from 4 dealers in the Bay Area for an '09 AT Sport. Yours is used with $800 in damage. I hate to say it, but I think you'll be very lucky to pull $16k. Good luck & bon voyage!

17580 is without tax and license FYI.

That's how much I paid.

800 trunk only.

No frame damage guaranteed.

So basically, you are saying if i put up 800 bucks to fix it, I can sell it higher? lol.

Yeah, people tend to see more value in something that is undamaged versus something that is damaged. Funny, huh?

Whoever buys it will have to pay tax again. You're going to have to eat the tax or find an idiot.

License is what? A couple of hundred bucks?

good luck

You would have better luck posting in the Forsale section man.
And if you need a quik sale, the price is going to have to be real tempting to people with this economy. Good luck man. If you have any more questions let me know.

Chill man, I'm not trying to get all on your case or anything.

The Apple discount was $100 bucks because of the small profit margin on the fit, plus it was basically eliminated with wheel locks.

But you are right, I do have an MT. I think what I'm trying to say is that people are more likely, when the price is close to a new car, to just go with a new one without ANY issues, and pay the price. I would most likely go that route when spending that amount of money, know what I mean?

yeah, it just looks bad but it was a very low speed push...it's not even a hit. The skin was so thin that any push became a big hit. I think I'll fork the 800 to fix it so I can put a better price. It's not like I'm not getting it back anyhow.

I'll ask TOOL to delete this once the car is fixed. The guy told me it only took a day or two to fix. The ding was really small...I think he can just buff it out with wax and it should be okay. You could barely see it with bare eyes but it was worth the discount I think.
