rust proof license plate screws?

I'm looking for some license plate screws for my 09 Fit Sport, ones that are rust proof/non-rusting/stainless steel/whatever you call it. I think it really screws up the look of the car if you have rusted screws lol. Anybody know where I can get something like this? I've been to Walmart and Home Depot, they don't have anything there. I've looked online but only found like two crappy websites. Any suggestions?

my Mugen stainless steel allen screws haven't rusted yet. Besides, a wirebrush would take care of it if it did.

The Mugen are definitely not rusting out for me and I've had them since last summer. You can find them on e-bay, I've seen them being sold for around $27.00. I know it is a lot for two screws but they are good quality and you have to use an allen wrench so it makes it harder for someone to boost your plates. I did have a problem with the Zeta Fit screws with the top coming off and they were really brown with rust. Had to have a neighbor use a vice gripe to get them off the car.

Thanks guys, I can always count on the nice people at the FitFreak forums I think I'm gonna go with Ace, since I need 8 screws, $27 is a little too much.

You definitley want stainless steel or nylon license plate screws. The stock screws on my 2000 Civic rusted solid - they were a bitch to get out. It amazes me some of the really cheap crap Honda uses when the rest of the cars are so good.

i think it's the dealer that gave you those crap screws, not honda the manufacturer...(?)

when i bought my car i brought a shopping bag full of plate accessories, including screws, frame, plastic caps etc. I told them that I didn't want rusted screws, and they said their screws don't rust, so I left in the ones from the dealer. The rear screws are metric (is that right?). They didn't put front screws in because i didn't trade in my civic after all, and both cars needed a plate to get home, hehe.

haha, now that i think about it, i would expect them to be!

i was just saying the rear screws come from Honda but the front ones are drilled by the dealer and thus not metric.

Another place for hardware- McMaster-Carr They are an industrial supply house but they will deal with the general public. In order to order hardware, you will have to know length, diameter, pitch, material and type of head of what you need.
