You can always put a rack on your Fit, it may not be certified by Yakima but I put a rack on my Fit. Pictures here, http://drknife.com/blog/index.php?itemid=47&catid=4

I do think there are better clips for the car though. My setup was taken off of my 1995 ford escort wagon.
