It has been discussed before. Search is your friend.

Yeah, but that thread isn't. T1R doesn't make em for the GE's. You'd have to do some searching to find something you could actually bolt on.

Pretty sure your point was to emphasize the handiness of search.

Someone should try using 02 - 03 EP3 rear disks, as soon as I get ahold of some I'll try, if I don't get ahold of a 5 lug disk conversion first.

He would have saw if he had searched that there was nothing currently on the market.
The link was an example of that.
If I wanted to emphasize the handiness of the search...I would have linked the search results you think?

Another possibility would be like Neebs mentioned in the link I attached above... and try getting your hands on a salvaged one off the EDM or JDM Jazz since they come stock with rear disc.

hmmm..I wonder how many of you are actually pushing your Fit so hard that you really need rear disks....today's drums are a lot better than most people think.

They also don't require as much maintenance and are less expensive to service.

Yeah I too don't really understand why people think the GE needs rear discs.... Its not fast, its not heavy, it doesn't need rear discs.

but still not that good...I have not had a self adjusting mechanism work past the first week of use. And with drum brakes, you have a very long pedal travel. With discs you get much better feel. definately worth the trouble to convert...I love them on my GD3.

Considering the front brakes do 75% or more of the braking a rear disc conversion is a waste of money for anyone not seriously racing their car on a track.

For me, i just want to have a lighter car... those drums are HEAVY and add considerable weight. The biggest bang for your buck is dropping unsprung weight. So ditching the springs and going coil over as well as lighter wheels and ligher breaks yeild big returns on chassis and unsprung weight.

Plus when I actually do track the car, any little bit helps. But ideally having bigger front discs is the way to go, although you must have balanced breaking if the front are too powerful, the rear need to be just as poweful.

just my thoughts. I'm just suprised that nobody makes anything for the fit... the civic, well there all all sorts of things.

Wow that's interesting, because on the CRX the drum brakes were lighter than the Si's disc setup.

I believe Rear Discs cool quicker than a rear drum setup so anyone who wants to AutoX or hit a road course hard would want discs all the way around.

drums are more economical and good enough blah blah, but it's still inferior to discs. Leaving the carwash approaching a red light, I knew the brakes were wet because I know how long it takes my car to stop from 40mph in dry weather. When wet, it takes twice as long. Also, you can't check the shoe thickness like you can with disc pad thickness...you have to pull the wheel off yourself or pay someone to inpspect. DRUMS ARE POS.
