Rear Bumper Removal . . . ?

The shop manual says that this is a two-man operation.

Has anyone removed the rear bumper on an '08 Fit? Is it a one-man or two-man deal?

Any other rear bumper removal advice is welcome.

Thanks.

Thanks, setter.

I've got the shop manual and I understand about the bolts, screws and clips. What I don't exactly get is the "gently pull" part. The boys over at the s2k forums say that s2k bumper removal, which is similar to the Fit, requires quite a yank. I wish I had an image, or an idea, of what kind of fastener I was yanking apart. Obviously, it is some kind of push in-pull out deal, but I fear breaking something.

Again, thanks.

You can do this on your own. Even after doing this a few times I still get nervous, but I've found that if you start at the rear fender and pull the side of the bumper out, standing next to the car pull straight towards you, after you see how thats clipped in, you'll have a feel for it.

I just replaced the rear bumper cover myself. At least on my Fit Sport, there are also two expansion clips on the underside of the car near the tow hook. Overall pretty easy to remove and reinstall. The rear spoiler is attached to the cover with four screws -two at each end in the wheel well area, two small nuts at the corners, and five expansion clips along the length
