T1R Response Header (DYNOED) Updated March 17th 07
Hi Guys,
Sorry for keep you waiting for the information about the T1R header. Now, I would like to tell you guys where we are at
To make a 4-1 shorty header you can say it is easy or you can say it is hard. By using mendral bent with bigger pipes (sounded simple) are not the only facts to build a high performance header. The place where it joins (early joints or late joints) and the length of the pipes (shorten or extended) where it connects from the top flange to the collector affects the performance. Little bits and pieces count so we concentrated in this few points to build the header.
The new prototype has innovative 38mm (1.5") primaries (1st prototype 32mm and Stock is 28mm) and it is the biggest pipe that has been used with the L15A engine (correct me if I am wrong). We made the pipes longer and length as equal as possible for better mid-range torque. We have smoothen out all the exhaust inlet / joints to ensure smooth exhaust flow to get as much power as we can.
Here are some pics of the NEW prototype and the production model will look very similar.
-You can see the place where the 4-1 joins together, we have made it as low as possible to achieve as much power as possible.
-inside exhaust all ported to ensure there's no turbulance created by sharp edges or left over from welding.
I will be dynoing the car soon and will keep you guys updated.
Thanks
Ben

very nice...
im probably going to go with this header over the megan, just as long its a direct fit to the udsm 1.5L and makes better power which im highly sure of.

In Cali, would you get in trouble if you got your hood popped and they saw an aftermarket header? I'm thinking I would...anyone experienced in that? What about a smog test?

Looks very nice .... I hope that they will perform better than the MUGEN header.... It would be nice to get a bit more "MID-RANGE" power from the Fit

oh man....any information on how much this is gonna cost? maybe a lil cheaper then the megan headers? i REALLY need some headers!! =]
We are assuming the retail price should be around $495-$545CAD approx. $445-$495USD.

tre
Any aftermarket header system that does not have a CARB # is not legal. If a cop in california were to pull you over and sees it he could give you a "fix-it" ticket. Same goes for intakes.
Honestly, don't worry about it. Just remember, the more "bling bling" (slammed, wheels, shiny exhaust, etc. etc.) your car has on the outside the more likely a california cop will pull you over

Good thing they are not like that here in Austin, Actually just yesterday I was crusin home at 90mph and got passed by an M6 that thing must have been doing atleast.. 150mph .. DANM it was nice..
Beginning January 1, 2005, vehicles 6 or less model-years old are exempt from the biennial Smog Check inspection requirement. For vehicles with registration renewals due in the 2006 calendar year, this exemption includes model-years 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006.
---------So for California people, you won't need to get a Smog check until 2012. If the vehicle is sold within 4 years, then it is exempt as well.

Yep, its great and all but it doesnt help when you get pulled over and you get asked to pop your hood. Also, the car would probably pass with an aftermarket header, as long as the stock cat is still there.

Do you have the mugen header? I do and i can say 1st hand that there is now low-mid end power loss. low-mid-and high end have been increased dramatically. Ben do a back to back dyno with the mugen vs. t1R on a stock fit and let's see the results.
the headers look sweet Very nice. I'm a Mugen whore though.
