Any speculations on when the Type R kit will be ready?

So will the Type-E (emissions) kit have a CARB number to pass smog? If not then I guess getting the higher option might be better.

Like my dad used to say. If you're gonna sin, make it worth it. lol

haha yea, better make it a 15lbs kit then LOL! if you're going to be illegal, might as well get the most of it. I think that's what you're dad meant rather than trying to make it legal (that wouldn't be sinning now would it?)

Hi all;

I Got a Question about the Fuel Economy with Turbo..... Have you tested the Fuel Economy with turbo? With 6ps and 10ps.

Thanks.

The 6PSI kit has already been tested. The mileage will be about 6-8% in increase. Once we finish the Type-R Option then I will report to you guys.

ok so i know that because of the increased performance the engine will be running at a higher temperature. should i install a transmission cooler on my MT fit? and what exactly is a transmission cooler? or is that the intercooler? like whats the diffrence?

with the added power, you will be adding heat. If you have an AT fit, the transmission fluid is taking the brunt of this because it uses a fluid connection between the engine a d the gears. In an MT however, that extra stress is absorbed by the clutch. As for that, there really isn't a whole lot to do except replace the clutch assembly altogether. You can't really add a trans cooler to an MT, because the gears are simply sitting in a bath of oil, as opposed to having pumps and a pressurized system as with an AT. An AT is a much more complex system, and more prone to excessive heat and failure than an MT. For this reason, a trans cooler would be necessary for an AT in a turbocharged system.

An intercooler is completely different. It cools the intake charge before it enters the engine and after it is compressed, because a combination of increased pressure and close proximity to exhaust gasses (in the turbo itself) causes an increase in the temperature of the intake air. More heat = less dense = less power.

Hope this makes sense..

So.. it's October, is the type-s option actually available now?

I'm curious to hear some install experiences... maybe a DIY?

Sorry to jump on tthis so late. What turbo will you be using.. A/R?.

I have MANY MANY other turbo related parts from other cars. is it a T2 Flange?

I'm looking into the JR kit, but they seem really slow in development..and sending the kit for re-development and long delays doesn't inspire confidence on my part.

WHat rpm does the turbo start building boost at?.

I want the power mostly for daily use but I also track/Touge the car

You get one and then you will find out

The turbo starts to spool at 2500rpm and as for daily driving, I will rate it "excellent"

Sorry, I know it has been awhile but we tried to make the components better so it took us a lot of time.

You will be able to run an extra AT oil cooler. It will have to reduce stress and increase life span to your tranny.

Manual tranny won't need a cooler at all. Automatic tranny coolers are almost universal. Just need the right fittings for your tranny. The A/T Might allready have a small tranny cooler I'm not sure. If it does you can just buy a bigger radiator for it. and add some fluid.

For the turbo kit. Being shady and saying I'll see when I buy it isn't great business. I want to know what A/R the turbo is and what flange it is please?
You meaning me being shady for not answering your question I thought everyone knew about the T1R setup already. Can you please make corrections to the word "shady". We have dealt with over 1000 of Fit members none of them have any problems. I feel a bit uncomfortable while you saying that I am shady.

The Turbo that we are using is Garret AR48 and this info has been up with all the previous post that I have made for the T1R Turbo kit.

Turbo Kit

How much is the typical turbo kit install go for in Southern California? I'm looking at the 185 hp Flywheel power option. Another question I have is the gearing. Will all that added power go to waste since the gearing is very short on the Fit? Does anyone here actualy driven their car with a turbo kit installed? I'd like some impressions.

It's either I get a turbo kit or trade up for a Mazdaspeed 3. I need a reasonably quick hatch that is four doors. There are alot of hills in my area and the MT Fit just doesn't cut it in my new town.

yeaaa, T1R's made a shorter final drive, i was wondering if they could also make a taller gear set for forced induction applications? ...or maybe even a sixth gear with the same final drive, if that's even possible, would be nice XD
