These dampers would work with any spring made for the oem ones with greater ability to control various spring rates. I just put the backs and adjusted the shocks to control the secondary bounce you get with most higher spring rated springs. If you're going to buy the dampers you might as well buy the t1r springs for 85 bucks more.
Installed the fronts today. Install time 3 hours. I used a small vise grip to hold the top from spinning just at the top of the bolt there's a small section with no threads just below the adjuster. The top nut went on with the front loaded down. The strut were marked L for the right side and R for the left side.
I aligned the front at -2.2 camber with the camber bolts. Adjustment currently at 7 clicks of 12 front and 10 of 12 clicks in back. I started soft and clicked it clockwise or harder till I got no secondary bouncing. The car feels great soaks up all the small bumps well but when going up driveways and speed bumps you know it's stiffer than stock. Overall feeling is like a expensive sports car feel. Well, the big test is this Sunday at autocross I hope it makes an improvement to just springs.
just sit on your fender and tighten that bolt down best you can. dont hardcore tighten it though. just enough to be snug.
Installed the fronts today I did have to vise grip the top section just below the adjuster to snug the top hat on. I loaded the suspension with the jack got it snug and finished it off after the car was back on it's wheels.

Skierdood did you get the install done yet? I'm looking into getting these to go with my Skunk2 springs and I'd like to know what you think.
Skunk2 springs makes the ride stiffer than a corpse on Viagra. I'm hoping these T1R's will smooth it out.
it may be because VER.1 owners (ME ) have to live with stock height butts... until i cut them of course! But anyway, maybe ver.2 the fronts were kept the same and the rears were revised completely?

Yeah I got them in, the handling is FAR superior over stock, they eliminate a ton of the annoying body roll that the stock shocks and struts would encounter, also with a bike on the roof the car feels a lot more stable. Ive also noticed the car is a bit more stable in heavy wind conditions. The softest settings are indeed soft and offer a really supple ride and the stiffest settings are stiff. Currently I am running them set around the 9-10 area due to having +38mm wheels that cause some rubbing on larger dips in the road and hard corners, Luckily I have some new wheels arriving today so I should be able to play more with the compression settings shortly and not have to worry about rubbing issues.
Overall this suspension setup is exactly what I wanted, something suitable for daily driving, not too low, vastly improved handling characteristics and a nice aggressive look. I am very pleased with this top quality product!
nvm, arent the fat ones for the back? maybe you did get spoon fronts...!!! JDMMM
Fat springs are the fronts, they are mounted around the shock and need to be wider to fit also they need to support more weight since there is more weight (i.e engine) up front, the skinny springs are in the back and mounted independently of the shocks.
We have tested last weekend. the test has been performed with T1R S-Spec damper (shocks) and T1R S-Coil springs.
1) Fitment
- The T1R shocks direct replaces factory shocks and fitment is perfect. No modifications what so ever. All brakeline brackets can be used at it's original position.
2) Ride
At the softest setting, the ride is softer than stock , you hardly feel manhole cover when you go over it. The ride is VERY VERY comfortable.
We test it a little further with stiffening up the front tand rear suspension. Ride quality remained. The turn in response and cornering stability is greatly improved.
The downside - because the front suspension iss lacking negative camber so at higher speed sweepers, turns or exiting ramp, the car felt a bit unstable so camber bolts is highly recommend. It would be nice to have -2 degrees but for daily driver -1.5 degrees will be enough.
We have had a few different ppl who sat and driven these suspension so they will post up some feedbacks very shortly.
