KW made awesome suspension for European cars...... but they don't work very well for Honda applications IMO.

We did a comaprision with Integra DC5 and S2000 AP1 and they didn't work very well at the track. After we switched to another maker we gain 2 secs per lap at the track.

Don't get me wrong, I am not saying they are not good but my point is there's something better out there

fshwcrs has a little shameless behaviour in the past
KW V3's are one of the best suspensions available for the S2000.

Please excuse the interruption in your posting, but this thread was brought to my attention by one of the forum members.

I am curious to learn what suspensions you were comparing in your testing and on what track?

Were you comparing apples to apples? Or apples to oranges?

As KW has 3 street options and 2 Race Options for most applications, we provide options for amost any driving habits/preferences.

I look forward to your response to clear up this minor point.

One of our team driver used to run them and you can find the info on his site www.maxrev.net he made a comparison with his old and new setup.

All the feedbacks were from my friends and customers who had them. I shouldn't say "WE" that are comparing them and actually THEY (those ppl who had them)were running them.

The suspension that we used on our S2000 were J's Racing CRUX dampers. We ran them at the Superstreet time attack last Nov and we will be running our own suspension this year. FYI, you can see results from last year http://www.superstreetonline.com/eve...ack/index.html

BTW, my friend in Switzerland is running KW3 and he is doing good with them.

Sorry my my poor engrish

Cheers
Ben

Thanks for the reply Ben.

As I suspected, we were comparing apples to oranges here.

Your Driver Maxrev was running the KW V3 STREET SYSTEM and then switched to the Tein SRD Coilovers. According to Tein’s site they are “Top-of-the-Line Ready-for-Competition Sports Shock Absorber for serious users”

Street System vs Race System

to Quote Maxrev's site:
"For street application, I would stay with the KWs. If your aiming for time attack on R compounds, its the best sub $3000 suspension system for the track."

His only complaint with the KW's is that they were too soft for his hardcore racing use, and the street valving of the system ran out of adjustment range for his tastes.

Maxrev also says:

“For those who want more advanced suspension systems, Tein offers the N1 series and also you have the option to purchase Öhlins, JRZ, KW Race setups

With the KW Street V3 version for the S2000 retailing at $2150 US, and a fully Customizable (spring rate and valving) complete 2-way Race version retailing for $2900 US, the KW line could have satisfied his needs as well.

I would like to thank you for the indulgence on your forum, and I would invite you to contact us for any of your private label suspension needs, as we work with many Tuners to develop individual programs tailored for the specific needs of their customer base.

Yeah, Rob is one of the guys I was talking about who was doing great with the V3's. When he switched to the Tein SRC (SRD?) setup he said that the stiffer springs/valving went a lot better with slicks, whereas the KW's weren't stiff enough for slicks.

When he ran the Time Attack, he was in the AJR racecar, wasn't he? I'm pretty sure all his personal car had done was an exhaust, intake and the suspension (first KW V3 and then the Tein SRC). There was a lot more done on the AJR shop car, including the J's Crux suspension with some pretty crazy springrates and quite a bit more engine work, no?

edit: I re-read what you wrote and I think I misunderstood you. I thought you were saying there was a 2 sec difference between Rob's car on V3's and the time attack car. My apologies

edit2: Wow, someone beat me to it LOL, I guess that's what happens when you start a post, go to work and finish it without refreshing the page when you get back home .

Clearance

Once the T1R S-Coil springs are installed, whats the ground clearance on the front air dam? I want to make sure I can make it into my front driveway without ripping off body parts.

I haven't measure the bumper to the floor but I will get that done and post another thread regards to the lowering and ground clearance

Thanks
