J's LSD & ATS Carbon Clutch installed

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Installed parts:
J's L.S.D. (Limited Slip Differential)
ATS Carbon Hyper single clutch
AJR Custom Stainless braided clutch slave hose
MOTUL PA90 LSD transmission Fluid
ALEX engine mount **WILL NOT FIT due to differences between JDM and USDM subframe**

The J's L.S.D. direct replaces the stock open differential and there's not fitment issues. ATS clutch kit replaces the stock clutch and flywheel, slight modification is required on the transmission housing. Here are some pics when the work was being done.

Very cool and good to know; more parts to add to the want list. This is more to increase driveability than for HP increases. Definitely curious about the engine response and any torque loss from the flywheel.

that's a huge weight savings. interested in hearing about the acceleration difference. also, how will changing to this LSD improve performance?

It's great to hear that Ben!!!!!!!!!!

The LSD will definitely help putting power on to the ground especially around tight corners. Imagine the inner wheel is spinning in a tight corner but U still have power going to the outter wheel with the LSD.

That also means u can put your feet on the gas pedal quite a bit earlier and start to build up the speed.

What mods were needed on the tranny housing? I'm assuming just some slight grinding to allow the plate to fit. could you explain a little further. Thanks

The flywheel looks a lot smaller but then again I think its the clutch pressure plate.
Im guessing the casing needs to be shaved a bit. The pressure plate looks taller/wider.

If i'm correct, that was the stock setup which was heavier, the aftermarket stuff was a mear 15.5 lbs which is a insane saving..

Yes. I was just pointing out thats very light compaired to some OEM cars.
My OEM flywheel weighs 25lbs. ONLY the flywheel.

These are the first units that I am test fitting so will be available soon.

I notice there a slight torque loss during low rpm ranges going uphill but normal roads the engine repsonse is much better.

The rating from ATS Japan is 1000kg and 1300kg. The one that I got is 1000kg so it way more than enough for 200-250whp.

ATS is the only company who makes a ultra high performance clutch for the L13A and L15A at the moment and I will rate them as the BEST clutch you can get. I think ATS USA will get them in stock soon and price should be around $1200+1300USD retail.

Sorry, n00b question... I have a Sport AT, does the LSD only work for MT?? I know the clutch doesnt apply to AT, but I was interested in LSD...

LSD will only work on MT so it is not available for AT.
