I've been told the Fit is pretty expensive for a car in Thailand. 170.000 baht or so for a brand new one

Not for Thai people, its pretty common. We are the poor ones in the US, when Thai people are driving around in Aventadors.

Ok so question? This might be off topic but what engine mounts are indonesia and all them using for a K swap? I really want to do one to my GE but no one makes engine mounts. I don't know if custom making them will work, but if anyone could answer that would be helpful for me when I get ready to do the swap.

They custom made motor mounts in Thailand. You can ask J's Racing Thailand. They recently did a K-swap. The owner's name is Reef.

Its about $35-40 per day for a compact. They have the same companies like Avis and Budget in Thailand. You can check the different rates when you arrive at the airport rental car counter.

Renting the car is not the issue, driving in the crazy traffic, and in between lanes will be the problem.

Motor scooter - I would only recommend those in the beach areas.

If you are going to use a scooter in the city areas, make sure you get life insurance for your next of kin. Bangkok drivers are not forgiving nor are their laws. Don't end up another dead tourist.

Cheers.

Driving in NYC compared to Bangkok is no comparison. I've driven in both. Navigation will be of no help to you in BKK.
