Alternator replacement - 2015 Honda Fit EX
My 2015 Honda Fit EX needs a new alternator?! It has a little over 12,000 miles, no accidents, mint condition. It's a city car, mostly enduring stop and go traffic.
How in the world does it need a new alternator? Does anyone know potential causes for this issue? There are no recalls for this Fit model.
**Any insights would be most helpful**
Note: It's at the dealer getting fixed, everything covered under warranty. It better be!

I'd say it was likely caused by a faulty alternator or other problem with the car. Manufactured things are not always perfect; sometimes, despite the best (or not-so-best) efforts of the makers, a bad widget gets out of QA.
I purchased a package of four name-brand household light bulbs this past week. Two were inoperative out of the box. Be glad that you don't have to mail your car back to the manufacturer to get warranty service like you often have to with many other consumer products.

^^ X2 on this!
What leds you to believe that there is an alternator or charging system fault?
Has it been diagnosed by a tech who is knowledgeable about the Electronic Load Detection system equipped in this current generation of Fits?
What is your usual driving route like (in the best detail possible please)? Short range, in town trips with stop/go traffic... A few minute jaunt down the freeway/feeder road to your destination and back, etc.

Thanks for your feedback!
The service dept at the dealership told me it was the alternator.
The "check charge system" notification was on, as well as others.
had to get it towed to the dealer, they diagnosed it as being an alternator issue.
A new one is on its way and will be installed by them.
Usual driving route? A 22 mile round trip from home to work, about 3x week. Freeway/highway driving, and city driving (stop and go most definitely).
