Hey I've been emailing Ray over at Skunk2 for a little while about sponsorship so if anyone is interested, just fill out a form here:

Just mention that Mike, a.k.a. Dacalac from the FitFreak board sent you. =) It doesn't matter if you have an auto or not. So Kevin & HotKamote can jump on it!

He also might be attending Eibach and on the lookout for some nice looking Fits too!

This is a good deal folks for wanting your first sponsor. I have had plenty with other cars and have recently signed with them! Ray is a good guy too by the way and my goodies are shipping now!

What is there commitment policy? I dont want to go to shows.

I don't know what I can or can't go over but you have to do something for them as I am sure you know since you are trying to sell their product. Stickers are for sure...one on each side.

It is a pretty good deal and definitely worth trying. I think the Fit will be easy to get people to support if you are willing to toss some cash into the car too, which obviously you have Chris. The Fit is the up and coming little car that people will mess around with as I think too many cars have been done over and over...So we will see.

*EDIT* Dacalac...Didn't mean to post in this as I saw it was in the CA forum just now...Feel free to kick me out of it. Just figured I would share my experience.

naw man I'm actually GLAD you posted in it. Shows someone who's had experience in this area and give some feedback to those who have questions. =)

If it was a "Where is a good mechanic in SoCal" thread and you posted a bunch of BS then I'd say something.

Good stuff! "Carry on"...I miss the ol military days.

No BS from me. I try to come with something or just don't type as I can save my fingers.

As you mentioned, there are tons of folks out there who are more hardcore than me but if you look at my signature, there is my website and you can see some of the other cars I have built and list of some of the sponsors I have had. While obviously I can't do the work for you, I can toss what I have learned in my experience with this, as well as getting into some magazines. Good luck to anyone who tries as it is fun trying...and when the first one lands...It is a pretty good feeling. I will say, it isn't a great idea to go to a place that you see in the magazines that promise a sponsorship if you pay $79. Had experience in the beginning and then saw the light...Good luck to everyone.

sweetness. I hope they consider sponsoring me. I wouldn't mind going 2 shows n stuff.
