Re: Bought TV from Amazon and got another TV...much better TV. What would u do?

So I order this:$679 w/ free blu ray player, the blu ray player was already delivered last week Amazon.com: Samsung PN42B450 42-Inch 720p Plasma HDTV: Electronics

And Got this intead: $2,092.92 Amazon.com: Sony BRAVIA XBR Series KDL-52XBR9 52-Inch 1080p 240 Hz LCD HDTV, Black: Electronics

I'm away so I had my stepdad take delivery. I asked him to check condition of box and he said wait cause the box was waaay to huge. I was like, "but its just a 42" and he said "aahh no, its a 52" Sony Bravia 1080p, 240HZ". I was like what? and told him to just put it in his guest room for meantime.
Now, I can't decide to keep this since amazon took sooo long to deliver ( a month) and score on a much much better and much bigger set and risk no getting warranty repairs if needed or just call them and have them get it while I possibly wait another month to get the replacement. What Would you Do?

they probably don't want to worry about shipping it back and shipping you out a new one. that just costs way too much money for them. keep it.

no I wasnt. they billed me a month ago for the TV I ordered, not for this. According to the tracking number it has not been delivered yet. What if they still send me the 42" Samsung and end up with both? LOL

Amazon is one of the world's largest companies. They can absorb a $1500 mistake they made.

Just wait it out, if they realize their mistake then let them come pick it up, don't inconvenience yourself. If you get both, the better for you, if you only get one, I'd TOTALLY keep the XBR.

Yeah just wait it out and see what they do. LMAO. I'd say keep the sony it's a MUCH better tv, just reading the specs it's a lot better. I mean don't get me wrong, samsungs are AWESOME tv's, but a 240hz 52" sony? u can't beat it!

Amazon wont absorb a cost like that, no way. Not to mention...Amazon is a hub for online stores.

I think whoever screwed up, whether is was Amazon or some other online retailer operating through Amazon, needs to accept their mistake and leave the consumer out of it. Mistakes happen in business, sometimes in the favor of the company, other times in the favor of the consumer. If Amazon decides to contact the OP, he was every right to say "No, I will not send it back." Amazon probably won't sue for it, because their legal costs would likely run greater than the price difference of the TVs.

if there is a mistake, they can just send someone to pick it up, no charge to the customer. But they should have a disclaimer saying that in the event of whatever mistakes, they reserve the right to fix the mistake or wahtever
