My 2009 Honda Fit Sport (Orange Revolution) is in for tinting today. I'm getting Llumar ATR High Performance charcoal tint, 35% front and 15% back. Two things. First, in Ontario the law does not list a specific % tint for the front windows. It just says that a clear view of the front passengers must be possible. However, I've been to two tint shops now that state 35% is the legal limit for those front windows. Has this been your experience as well?
Secondly, the tint shop stated that the little front quarter windows are considered part of the front windshield since they are positioned just in front of the side mirrors. Therefore, no amount of tint is allowed on those. Were you also told the same?

35% tint sounds about right for the "unofficial legal limit" for front windows.
As for the front quarter windows - every fit I've seen around with tint has them done. Don't see how they would be considered as a part of the windsheild!

Forgot to ask on your other thread but i will here. What is visibility like at night through your rear windows? Considering tinting 15-30%. Thanks.

You're right. Total BS. Dropped off my car at a place to get Ventureshield applied. Guy there said what I was told was totally WRONG! They do all the tint for the local Newmarket Honda so know what they're talking about. So, I'm getting my little windows done after all, for FREE! Bonus...

No idea but I'll provide input when I experience this. Guy at tint shop said I shouldn't have severely impaired night vision, as I would with 5%. Then again, he's the same bozo who wrongfully told me the little front windows could not legally be done!
I can now report that I find NO impaired night time visibility with the 15% tint. I've experienced driving with 5% which seriously does impair your vision and 35 % (no impact). In fact, I'd say the 15% has the added bonus of cutting down on glare from cars behind you. Overall I would strongly recommend getting 15-20% tint on your rear windows.
