re: $1000 Honda "loyalty" rebate?

hey all,

I just recently bought a fit 09 MT LX (LOVE IT) and the dealer passed along the $1000 PST rebate (in B.C.) to me.

After I settled up things with the other dealers I had been speaking to, one of them informed me that Honda was "recently" offering a $1000 "loyalty rebate." He said to call Honda Canada (which I will do tomorrow) and then go to the dealer where I bought my care and ask for the $1000 after-tax rebate (I'm paying the rest of my downpayment out on Wednesday).

I doubt the dealer that told me that was trying to get me to somehow tear up the current contract and go with him, and I think he was actually looking out for me.

Anybody know anything about this "loyalty rebate"? I've checked the Honda Benefit website and it talks about a rebate for 2007 Fit leases/purchases -- I was just wondering if this is still in the works for the 09s.

I don't know specifically about the FIT but I am looking at purchasing a Civic and just got off the phone with my dealer. She mentioned the $1000 loyalty dollars and that it would come right off the purchase amount before taxes. Will be seeing her in a couple of days - if I find out more details I will post.

Yes -- I called Honda Canada today and they are offering a:

$1000 rebate on 08-09 purchases (not sure about leasing?) Fit and Civic purchases from February 27th to sometime in March.

Here's a link to the flyer about the $1000 loyalty program. Eligible for purchase, financing or lease of a 2008 or 2009 Civic or Fit. Someone from the same household must own a Honda for you to qualify for the $1000. According to this flyer, the program is until end of April, 2009, but according to Car Cost Canada, the promo runs until end of May, 2009.

hmm, currently owning an acura counts as honda? They better!

I don't believe it counts. Acura has their own loyalty discount if you're buying another Acura car.

BTW, Car Cost Canada revised their report. The Honda loyalty discount is definitely ending on April 30, 2009.
