Audi Test Drive Event - Infineon Raceway, California

Guys,
I just went to an Audi Test Drive Event that has one more leg in Fontana, California. SoCal better get on it quick!

Spent couple of hours driving just about every single Audi available in US: A3, A4, S4, S5, A6, S6, S8, Q7,.....

R8 was the star, but it takes $600 to put it in a gear! I'll pass!

It was fun driving S4 (my choice!) on the track itself! Take that Lexus, Infinity...... Nice events, but only cone lined up parking lots! Not by Audi standards!
Quattro kicks ass.

Going back there on Monday to take more pics of R8 being driven by rich folks that shelled $600-K!
I have to! I owe it to those 4 R8 that will be crushed in less than a month! They were brought to US on a working visa just for this event. By law they can't be dismantled, sold, donated,...... Audi can turn them into factory racers if they wish, but they can't be sold to a privateer race teams. Sad! Very sad!

I also got few videos including two laps of R8 in-car video during reconasance planing run in which Stephan and his colleague decided in which gear they will keep drivers driving R8's. I am using digital photo camera Canon SD630 which is by no means video camera so video did not come out that great due to white balance. You can see inside cockpit, but not outside front windshield. Stephan was also not pushing the car at all. He kept it in 4th all the way except back end hairpin (3rd) and last corner (3rd). That makes it far less interesting. Sounds are great though! Engine sings!
I also got a few fly-by video's as well.
Does anybody knows any better quality video hosting sites than You Tube? Their videos are so tiny on the screen. I will try Goggle video.

Dude that looks sick!! I love that A5, thats a really clean car!.
It sucks but me and my Dad didnt make it out there...He had a motorcycle thing to go to....I was very dissapointed to say the least...Maybe next time if there is a next time.

I was there week two ago at the California Speedway, it was awesome for the two hour they let you drive. I wanted more time. But I did sign up for another one.
