Here's the pics i took from the recent "War of The Imports" here at Orlando Speedworld Dragway... we were only there through the first round of eliminations since we had to leave to go to the Lollicup Anniversary Meet... so not as much action as i would have liked.... ah well.
i love them. i grew up with them constantly as my brother built 7 of them all ranging from mid 13's to high 10s
i forget the actual motor code
but running
1.8s from older corollas boosted
13bs
12as
starion/conquest engine
memories as a kid. wow seeing one of these.
I gotta get myself to the next nationals exent next spring/summer!
I was still too young by the time he lost his car craze and perhaps gotten one handed down to me :-(
I miss seeing those. been such a long time since ive seen one in person or even a pic haha

i was thinking the same! unless of course 'import' has become synonymous with identifying a souped up sport compact, much in the same way ricer is no loger limited to asian made cars.

They also allowed domestics for some reason. There was a GMC van that was running. Who knows...
yeah i guess imports is more like "subcompacts" nowadays since domestics aren't always big ass muscle cars anymore? are those like 5 zipties holding up a water spray for the intercooler? those photos are crispy cleann..
