2005 was officially the last time the group of individuals from route NINETY took the liberty of planning Manitoba Canada's infamous annual Honda & Acura BBQ held within Birds Hill Provincial Park. Unfortunately since then route NINETY has disbanded, and the import community has yet to see anything of that magnitude in three years. Given the outstanding turn outs we've had in previous years, a group of unorganized individuals have decided to bring back this annual event.... and this year open it up to ALL IMPORTS.
Much like previous years the concept will be that of a "Pot Luck", in which each individual will bring ATLEAST one item, and in turn that should end up feeding the entire group.
Who: Import Enthusiasts Where: Birds Hill Park, Manitoba, Canada (East Beach) When: Sunday July 27th, 2008 (Weather Permitting) Time: 1:00pm Park Map: Click Here
I'm quite shocked that there is unfortunately no real interest from the Fit Freak Community. As previously mentioned we have done this in previous years, and it has always been an extremely enjoyable day for everyone involved. We are hoping to get a wider variety of vehicles this year, as if this does infact go off without a hitch, we may just consider turning it into a Provincial Park BBQ Car Show in upcoming years.

I'd like to see a traveling grassroots type of event like this.
Cause, like mentioned before me, thats way too far for me
to travel. I'd drive maybe 2 to 3 hours for an event not any
more than that. Sorry.
i'd almost drive to the Tail of the Dragon for a fit meet, even if it would take me 3 days to get there :P
i think i should be going, i booked it off
Good! As I'll probably be driving the Civic, and I will have my girlfriend drive the Fit out there. Also, we're planning to have vehicles of the same nature park beside one another, so we'll most likely be the only two Honda Fits. lol
Even if I start driving from Vancouver on the 25th after work at 1800PST... I dun think I will get to the event on time... let alone going back to Vancouver by next morning~ @.@

For the first FIVE VEHICLES to show up at 1PM+, and no sooner, you will be rewarded with a little token of our appreciation which will include the following items:
And for the remaining 5 "goody bags" that we have put together, we will be varying them out to every TENTH VEHICLE, and they will include everything except the WPGCruise Magazine:
Also please note, that these will only be given out to the OWNERS of the vehicle, and not any of their passengers, or anyone affiliated with the help. lol Lastly, these will NOT be given out unless you can prove you've brought a food item for the BBQ.
On top of the Falken Tire goodies donated (Pens, tire gauges, and key chains) GAS Performance will also be giving out NOS drinks at the BBQ. See you all there! :cheers

Thanks to some local support from two of Winnipeg's most well known automotive performance shops, this "event" is most definitely shaping up to be epic.
Well, that event was great and we managed to pull in 110 cars? and 13 speeding tix i think? But all around, it was a fun experience with our 2 fits representing.
Apparently, we really traffic jammed the park we went to as only a few had park passes so the pay line went all the way out of the park to the highway exit ramp.
But apart from that, it was a lot of fun and look forward to the next one

Thanks for coming out! We had 110 vehicles as of 2:30 according to the Manitoba Provincial Park Authorities, and only more to come, and go as the day progressed.
Next year we'll make certain to book that exact location, and arrange a parking schematic for people to follow to enable us in parking more vehicles.
