What can I say? The 2009 Honda Fit is a big part of my life. Right from the test drive, it left a big impression on me. From the big interior, to the big fuel economy, to the big reliability, everything just fit my needs. It has been able to handle everything I've thrown at it, and with old man winter at the door-step, I'm sure that it'll help me plow right through the winter. The car does it all: it's big enough to carry me, my cargo, my friends, the ladies, and even big people. People out there think they know what big is? They got nothing until they use a Fit! q.e.d.
I finally made the big move from Southern California back to Seattle Washington. My wife and I needed to save money, so we decided to move all our stuff with just our cars (my Fit and her Yaris). We didn't need to haul a refrigerator, but we loaded BIG stuff like a full size futon, dresser, and an entertainment system. We drove all our things to a freight where they can then deliver everything together back to Seattle. So now...
... we're back in Washington enjoying the luxuries that we could not find in California; the COLD WEATHER! But even that can't stop the Fit. I often go up to the mountains, and it's always fun to see this small hatch drive alongside trucks and AWD SUVs. I've never had a car this small that could do such BIG things.
Ernie (our 07 GD3) enjoys the outdoors - and loves to help us haul our gear.
He carries us to all sorts of places, and carries our kayaks, bikes, camping gear, food, and clothing, for days to weeks, depending on where we go. Here's out latest endeavor - unfortunately we forgot extra batteries for the camera, but that's no Ernie's fault!
And, he can still manage 28 MPGs with all our stuff inside and strapped on above!
He has a little help from Thule though!
Yes, that's 4 person tent!
Ernie thinks a new set of lugs to match his shiny blue coat of paint will really help to tie a new pair of shoes on for Christmas!
(Shameless I admit, I may have planned a camping trip last minute to show off Ernie's skills...)
