2009 MD/DC/VA Skyline Drive MEGA Meet

Well, a few of my friends from my main forum came up with the idea of having a meet for spring time before summer hits. I'm sure with the nice weather coming there will be much more activity. This will be a nice meet, greet, drive, and relax type of gig added with the nice modded cars.

We are trying to expand the representation of cars. This will be posted up on multiple forums. Just wanted to send an invite. Everyone is welcome, just don't be a dick!

RULES:
-NO burnouts. It just makes you look ridiculous.
-DON'T reckless drive, street race, cut in and out of traffic. (Let's try to not add attraction from the cops.)
If you are in a caravan try to stay in the group don't race to cut off the leader. We don't need accidents and tickets. Nobody wants to see a member or innocent bystander injured or killed either. If you want to gumball wait until 66.
-JUST relax and have a good time.

Here are the usual meet points we have before rolling out to Blueridge. Each meet spot's purpose is to gather cars, caravan out to the final ralley point, then head out to mountains. We have done this for many years and have proven successful each time. If you don't feel like caravaning just meet at the final point.

TIME & DATE:SUNDAY, MAY 31ST, 2009. Legs 1-3 meeting 10:00 to depart at 11:00 meeting at the ralley point in Manassas at noon. Leaving there at 1:30 sharp to head to Blueridge.

AFTER THE FINAL RALLY POINT WE WILL GATHER EVERYONE AND DISCUSS TRAVELING TO BLUERIDGE.

WE WILL HEAD STRAIGHT TO The Inn at Afton - Home Page FROM THERE.

DIRECTIONS HERE:Driving Directions from 11380 Bulloch Dr, Manassas, VA to 185 Afton Cir, Afton, VA

Let everyone catch up, then head out to the parkway for some fun driving. The whole meet will probably end around 6:30 PM.

*Members that are coming from the south could setup a ralley point to meet with the NOVAers.

NOTE: At the final ralley point there will be restaurants & gas stations where you could fill up and dine before heading out to the mountains.

I am getting alot of interest for the 24th of May. Which ever gets the most votes that day will be the date of the meet.

I'll start the cut off sometime end of this month or mid next month. That way it gives people time to plan or see who backs out or not.

Just realized the 24th is a Memorial Day weekend. Not going to work. So it's between May 17th & May 31st.

Why won't Memorial Day work? Its a good way t insure folks aren't gonna have to work at least.... Depending on final date I may be down along with one other from the panhandle of WV, we can run down 270 and catch the Rockville leg.

Yea but many people have plans for that date. The 10th is Mother's day. That day won't work either.

Now it all trickles down to May 3rd, May 17th, and the 31st.

Also we definately can't forget about the WV people. In fact, I live about 15 minutes away from Charlestown. Anyone is welcome no matter what state or what car.

i prefer the 17th cuz its sooner than the 31st but then the 31st would give me more time to work on the car but its like 2 weeks later than the 17th...3rd is to soon...i mean i down for whatever date but its

Jcharged are you in Winchester? We should get together sometime, Me and David (Jibbz2) can meet up with you. I should be down for the 17th BTW.

I am actually located about 20 minutes away from Winchester. I am in Hamilton,VA. I wouldn't mind meeting up.

Majority of people are voting for the 31st. All of us have ruled out that the 3rd is fine but may be too early. Also alot of people are working on the 17th...weird.

So once I get confirmation, it seems as if the 31st will be the set date.
