L15A Aftermarket High Profile Camshafts

I've done a little searching on the forums and google but I couldn't find anyone who makes higher profile camshafts for the Fit. The only post I read regarding to this was about a Bisimoto Rep saying that they were planning on making specified camshafts for the fit, but that was in 2010 and I've checked their site with no luck.

I tried sending him an e-mail but his box is full, so I'm wondering if anyone knows where I can get a higher profile camshaft for my 07 Fit. Not looking for anything too big, maybe a stage 1. I want to try and keep it as close to OEM as possible with a little more power.

Hmm, after reading this thread https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...bang-buck.html

and then reading JUN's actual site

JUN AUTO - JUN HIGH LIFT CAMSHAFTS and Kit - HONDA L15A/LEA

They appear to offer a cam for both the GD and the GE, BUT it's only a re grind... Which DSM breaks down about half way down the page on the first link why I would avoid this...

the GD cam from Jun is a 252/252 and is a regrind (OEM is 235/251).

In comparison CAT has a BIG list of cams and they are either "chilled cast iron" or "steel billet."

(CAT lists these as "ok" with OEM internals the first two are listed as "sport" and the third is a "turbo")
263/259
290/272
290/259
(all of these are listed as Rally & Cross or Rally & Race and "require" springs and retainers)
292/288
296/288
309/292

Here is a the link to Cat Cams in English, but it ONLY appears to work in an Internet Explorer browser CATCAMS racing parts [camshafts-valve springs-retainers-connecting rods]

WHEN I get to this part of my build.... I am planning to go with a Cat Cam...

maybe this?

Not sure if it's a swap possibility, but the 2013 JDM CR-Z engine supposedly got an upgraded high rpm cam... if the LEA is similar enough to the L15A, that might be a good option.

from this thread --> http://www.crzforum.com/forum/honda-...da-site-5.html

Unlike JDM ZF2 which has a high rpm cam (6800 redline) , USDM ZF2 is still using 12V/16V iVTEC.

- American Honda once again messed up with their web site. Please refer to the press page.

When the battery is more than 50% charged, the new Plus Sport (S+) boost system can deliver increased acceleration for up to ten seconds."

That MIGHT work in a GE...

But at this point, I have my FlashPro and a redline @7200 on the GD. I'm still working on other "bolt on" I/H/E options and finalized tuning to show to people before I start my big project. "Big project" most likely wont have anything to show till 2014 though. I have to keep my car in spec for my current SCCA class, however due to low participation, I will probably have to jump classes in 2014 if I intend to compete at nationals.

I have grind my own hi-profile cam back in 07 when I raced my fit. Doesn't work too well. I am not sure too high profile of didn't degree the cam right. I bend couple valves.

Bending valves comes from over revving or not enough clearance between the valves and piston top with higher lift.

I'm interested in eventually trying one of the first 2 sport cat cams usable with OEM internals, but does anyone know if there is an adjustable cam gear available?

So far there is no commercially available adjustable camgear.

I know DSM was talking with a few places, but I never saw the results...

Also, it would be awful hard to adjust that sucker... being chain driven I don't think you can exactly cut a timing cover like they do on other Honda's, you'd just create a massive oil leak. Every time tobadjust you would have to take off the upper intake manifold and the valve cover.

Still, if you could have one made, degree the cam in right and tune it with FlashPro you would have a sweet ride for sure

go get a reground cam. some companies who do minor profiles to work with stock ecu will cut into the base of the cam, and you just do a valve adjustment to get the clearance back in spec. usually this is for less then 5% lift increase.

I have had great success with both crower and delta regrinds. in those times I had them made, they did what is called spatter welding. They actually spattered melted metal over the cam lobe, then ground it back smooth. Usually they had to spatter weld several times on the same lobe, as they only would gain maybe a paper's thickness. Its a delicate process. But spatter welding ensures good contact and very thorough welding of the surface to make it just as strong as the factory cam surface

Searching the forums for "cams" and look who and what I find. LOL
You and I might be on a similar quest with our Fit's.
Good info from all.
