I received mine a couple of days ago, and noticed most of the posts on this thread pertain to owners of the earlier Fit version.

Who here has the SG2 installed on the current Fit?

I am interested both in mounting locations and custom calibration settings.

I was disappointed to learn that my 1996 Ford is only OBDI compliant. So much for switching the ScanGauge between two vehicles!

I calibrated the setting for distance and speed, using mileposts on a 50 mile straight stretch. Fit is an '09 Sport AT with Dunlops and about 3,000 miles wear.

A calibration factor of +2% achieved distance accuracy of under 0.2%, while my Garmin 76CSx and external antenna came in high by 0.14 percent. My factory trip meter came in low by 1.4 percent.

For the fuel use adjustment, I may try to run three of four tankfuls for a single calibration factor to minimize the effect of some of the variables. It will still probably need to be adjusted seasonally for varying intake air temps and manifold pressure.

let me try and help.

you have to plug it into the ODBII port and then mount the head. I have seen a few locations for the mount. I like mine to not block anything and to be easy to read and touch. As you will see it's in front of the HVAC controls but not so close I can use them easy. Some have put it on the steering wheel shaft cover near the dash. Most use Velcro tape to hod in place.

Let us know if you find a better spot. I would of put mine high above the window but the cord is an issue

I moved my Scangauge down here a couple of months ago. Definitely out of the way yet still easy to view and access.

I did have to "open up" the fuse cover a little to get it tucked in and then used some velcro to make sure it stays in place.
I figured the worst case would be that I'd have to buy a new fuse cover.
But after living with it for awhile, I like it!

I just got a SGII today and current trip MPG is reading 9999 constantly. I think something is wrong... Also, did we ever get honda xgauge codes?

If you drive and coast then without much throttle you will tend to get 9999 miles/gallon easily on instant not trip. Then once you hit the throttle a little the 9999 changes to about 80 to 220 for me depending on whether you are going downhill or on the flat.

My scan gauge gets stuck on 9999 and even with some throttle it stays there a little too long. My response is a bit sluggish but I dont' use it for accurate numbers just relative monitoring.

This was when i was just driving with my foot on the gas...
I did a use defaults last night and got it working now.
Averaged 33mpg today with some hiway and city driving. Alot of stop and go and a ton of hill. The fit hates hills.
This is an at btw.

I was thinking this was a set up issue. 33 in an AT is about right

Ok, I may be stating the obvious but here it goes:

- has anyone noticed that you can get better mpg even at 25mph going up hill in 5th gear even when the car seems to bog? I have noticed about 5-8mpg better than down shifting into 4th. Must be the gearing combine with the ECU programing?

- This struck me this morning, after thinking again about the previous statement, when going up a hill I was able to maintain the sampe mpg at 40mph vs. 25-30mph. So, where am I going with this, DWL. What are the cutoffs for DWL? I mean why slow all the way down to 25mph going up a hill when you can do the same damge at 40mph seeing that you are just going to increase your speed(which will take less time and fuel from 40mph)?

Oh, and I have my SGII mounted right on the steering column for easy viewing and molesting. It only blocks the turn signals for my viewing which I can easily hear.

If you have the 09 Fit, it fits nicely in the little area behind the cup holders without any mounting.

Hey Shawn, Not sure if you saw my thoughts in the grill block or not when I ran one? One sugestion for you is to get a decent IR thermomoter and after you get to temp like that 213F shown take a few readings under the hood. I think you will be surprised what you see.......
Look close at the cylinder head.

Are you saying that 213F is too high for comfort( I have seen it at 220F)? I have been wondering. Depending on the evening commute temps I may pull out the upper grill pieces. I may be able to borrow the labs IR temp gun but I am not sure if they will let me hold it over night to see what temps the block is putting out. I definitely don't want this thing to over heat.

No I'm actually saying mine was higher then the SG readings! That's why I took mine off. If you could rig up the grill block to open open and flow air after you hit 180F ie normal that would be what I would do. Mine was off by 10 to 15F. Think it has to do with the fact that the SG temp is not at the thermostat???

So I have my SGII set to 10 gallon tank. I have calibrated it 3 times just to be sure that I had it right. Is there any way to calibrate tank size? Too bad the car doesn't send gas left to the SGII...

Unless you can fill more than 10 gallons when the gas light comes on, 10 is fine.
