First tank = 33.8 mpg

I got my first tank of gas yesterday after buying my Fit last Tuesday (the dealer filled it up). I put 313 miles on it, and it took 9.26 gallons to refill it... so I officially got 33.8 mpg on the first tank... could actually be more if they drove it between the time they filled it and when I drove it away (it had ten miles on it when I left the lot). Also could be slightly higher if they didn't actually fill it to the top like I did, but I assume they did.

I'll post again when I fill up for tank #2.

Pretty good for a first tank, and I don't have the lightest foot (accelerating anyway), and played around with the paddle shifters a few times... I do take it easy on the interstate, usually about 65 mph (our limit is 60 here), but light to light I prefer to get up to speed asap.

My drive to work is mostly highway, so very little city driving on this tank.

That's pretty good. I get about the same combined trying to drive relatively light, but I, too, like to hear the revs. I'm dreaming of a 40+ tank, but that'll have to wait for a highway trip, I suppose.

My very first tank was 32.5mpg and its gone up ever since then. Now with 5600 miles, i usually average between 35-37mpg. Since my car's engine is already broken-in, i hope to see higher mpg once the weather gets much warmer.

Up the PSI of your tires. I upped to 38psi one day. My gauge said i got 47mpg. So I am pretty sure I was breaking 40mpg.

38psi was tolerable on some roads, but not all. So I backed down to 34psi. I'll probably wait till I get new tires before I try the high psi again.
