Break In Question

Hi,

First post here. I just bought a 09 Fit Sport 5AT. I'm still during the break-in period coming up around 450 miles. My concern for this process is that I mainly drive on the freeway since I work so far away from home. At times I get impatient and accelerate to 70 and even 75 at times on the freeway. Is this bad for my engine? I usually try to go at or below 65 mph, but I can't help speeding up some times. I never rev my engine past 3000 rpm though.

Well, I know I shouldn't be driving on the freeway in the first place during the break-in period.

psmo290,
You are doing everything just fine exept you are worrying way too much.

You need to read the link below to feel better. I do not endorse this at all but thousands of guys in many forums for the last 3 years or so are jumping on this guys bandwagon. Again, I believe your engine parts should learn to shake hands before they get into a fist fight, but motoman is out to change all that
