GE3/GD3 Front Grill - Type R Badge Question

Hey Guys,

I'm gonna take out my mugen grill and go back to the stock one soon, but i'm thinking about buying an official honda red emblem to fit onto the OEM grill before i reinstall it..

I'm pretty sure the size differs from the USDM fit, as they're all using Civic >06 badges.. I know for sure that they will definitely not fit onto a GE3 grill..

However, i've been looking at the new shaped civic 3dr type-r and it looks to me as if the front emblem on that one is the right size.. If anyone has any feedback on this it'd be much appreciated!

Cheers

Yup, that's what I thought, until I bought the EP3 badge from Honda lol

I've got a pic to show the difference in size

The EP3 badge is way too big to mount onto the GE3 grill, perhaps the GD3 and GE3 differ due to US safety regulations?

Anyways, is there anybody else out there with a possible solution?

Cheers!

then order the gd3 type r badge cause the honda jazz type r badge is way too small for the usdm fits grill so we have been using the ep3 and they fit perfectly. the jazz badge is smaller.

not sure what car you got?.. GE3 or GD3... but if you have a GD1,

you need the front Civic EP3 badge and Integra DC5 badge.

the part numbers i are:

75700 S5T E01
75701 S6M Z01

i have these fitted to my car and they fit perfectly

Cheers for the reply mate,

I've got the GE3 body, as you can see in the pic, I'm holding up the EP3 Civic badge to the GE3 grill, no chance it'll fit, way too big...

Perhaps I'll go into my local dealership and see what they recommend, the new shaped civic has a smaller front emblem, so might look into finding the dimensions of that one!

Thanks again!

i dont think the badge you have is the old shape ep3 one?, i think the front badge was smaller on the pre-facelift version, i think it is a facelifted version you got

Ahhh! That'd make sense!

I've got the receipt for the badge (have sold it on ebay since) and it says it's a DA5 Emblem..

When I ordered it from Honda I didn't realize that there had been a facelift, I simply asked for the 06 Civic Type R front emblem.. Any idea what year the facelift came into play? That way next time I go into Honda I can give them the exact year of the badge I need

Thanks very much for pointing it out!

i think EP3 prefacelift was from 2001 - 2003
EP3 facelift was about 2004 - 2007

FN2 was 2007 to present

just use the part numbers: 75700 S5T E01 & 75701 S6M Z01

the part department can check using the part numbers and they can tell you the cars it is from (civic and integra)

Happy birthday mate,

they are fitted with double sided foam tape, i think i put extra tape on so they stayed on. as i think i broke off the pins.

on the front i had to sand the grille a bit first to get the surface flat.

Been looking into doing this mod since my last post and it appears that the GE Jazz are slightly different to the GD.

I dont have a GD to compare it to but the measurements of my badges are as follows:

Front: 11.3cm x 9cm
Rear: 9cm x 7.5cm

Mainly been looking at ebay.com as theres nothing on ebay.co.uk and found that the following are more likely to be the badges i need as the diamensions are almost the same:

Front: 75700-SNW-003 (£42.78+vat)
Rear: 75701-S6M-Z01 (£33.05+vat)

On the note of badges, has anyone fitted the "Fit" badge with the red dot? where would you place that?

Incidentally, the item code for the Fit badge is 75722-SAA-010 (£11.14+vat)

Gary

ps all prices quoted are from my local honda dealer.
