Spoon Sports Europe - Very disappointing customer service: money gone?

Hey guys,
I would like to draw your attention to an interesting and disappointing matter. First of all, I am a very patient customer who has a lot of understanding for everything. But please read this:

In September 2008 I ordered the N1 exhaust as well as strut bars for a lot of money with Spoon Sports Europe (www.spoonsportseurope.net). One of the sales representatives told me that most of the parts were not in stock and that I have to wait 4-6 weeks until shipment. Without any doubt, I remitted the money. We agreed on contacting each other via e-mail for regular updates on both orders.

However, I have not heard anything from Spoon Sports Europe since December 2008. Until the beginning of December I was told that the parts are still shipped from Japan and will soon be delivered to me. But then, silence...I wrote several emails, a complaint to the sales representatives and the general address without any reply. The sales representative is not available on the phone, either. I also wrote a complaint to the Japanese headquarters yesterday and hope that these guys might help me.

I am really frustrated now considering that I spend a lot of money and put much energy into it. Do you have any idea what to do in this situation? I really want the parts I ordered or my money back. Shall I hand this over to a solicitor?

Do you have any experiences with Spoon Sports Europe? Thank you for any ideas.

hmm, i am assuming that you meant you haven't heard from them since December 2008, not December 2009. I'm sorry this is happening to you. if they are failing to respond to you and it has already been this long, i would try contact my credit card company to dispute the charges for the parts i never received. did you pay with credit card? i'm not certain if it works the same way in germany as it would in the US, but if you paid by card and are able to, i would dispute the charges.

Yes, I meant 2008. I'm sorry, it is already quite late here. I paid via bank transfer and it can be canceled within several weeks. Unfortunately, I am already far beyond that deadline...

Nevertheless, thanks for your ideas! I'm currently searching for a laywer who is familiar with British and European law. I don't think there is any other way to get the money back.

EDIT:
Spoon Japan send me a fax to solve the problem! Yes, those guys are great! Thumbs up!

glad to hear someone is doing their job in japan.. i bought the exact same products from spoon a while ago, prob 2 yrs ago now, recieved it within a short period of time..

but i must admit, service from them is very poor, especially via email.. i asked them several questions, without reply so i gave up, and dont think i will be purchasing from them ever again, maybe spoon japan direct...

Thanks for your comment. It is very interesting that you made similar experiences concerning the service.

However, there are news. I received a package containing the N1 exhaust and the lower arm bar. So, most importantly, I did receive something and now I am waiting for the other goods. Thanks again to Spoon Japan!

I ordered a lot of things, therefore all the trouble:
- Spoon radiator cap
- Air mass filter
- N1 back box and b-pipe
- CF wing
- Front strut bar
- Front lower arm bar

Now I am waiting for the rest of the parts (except N1, lower arm bar) and hopefully I will receive something...

Concerning the lower arm bar: In case you haven't seen any photos: It is yellow-painted, the weld looks quite okay (but could have been better) and weighs 1.3 kg. I think it is quite okay for the price.

that radiator cap i got one last december and he told me it was the last one..

Thanks for your comment. It is interesting that you have information on the stock. I can understand this in a way, but I cannot stand their way of dealing with that. I expect a simple reply to emails about the current situation.

What is interesting as well is the fact that you got the last radiator cap in December (I guess you ordered it around that time). I ordered the same product in September and did not receive anything. Very strange, if you ask me.

Update: Finally, I've received mail with new parts. Only radiator cap, sub silencer and the air filter are still missing. Thanks again to the guys at Spoon Sports Japan and Spoon Europe who interestingly reply to my e-mails again.

I will post some photos in the next days, but I can say that the Spoon N1 is loud as hell....

I definitely think so, especially since I'm not running a sub silencer (at the moment). The 'popping' sound is quite cool, I love it, but it gets really loud and I'm always scared of being pulled over. Yesterday, I did a small measurement and most of the time, the instrument showed 105-110 db....

However, I really feel a small increase in power. This is a great product.

UPDATE: Today I received the last package with the remaining parts. Almost 7 months ago, I ordered the parts and it seemed as if all the money was gone. Thanks to Spoon Sports Japan I finally got everything I paid for. Thanks to Spoon Sports Japan!
