LOL at installing it in the costco parking lot. Honestly while it seems scary that there is vents and rain can get in, after inspecting the location of the vents once installed it looked like no water would damage anything in that area. I'm surprised guys like Rick with the VS style hood have no problems, that vent is way bigger.

Also a new local fit freak SUMO has a MG style hood which has 3 vents and I don't believe he's had any problems.

So yeah ask Ben@AJ, Sumo, or Rick@honda, they all run vented hoods, and are locals.

yay im considered a local now hahaha

anyways yea i had the mg hood on in van, and ran it for 2 weeks with out any problems, however im not sure how it is on long term use, but if the vents are near the same place as the mg one, which just hovers over the grill, shouldnt be a problem, you'd prolly need a lot of water to go into the intake before it seizes up.

i will let you know however on the drive back to edmonton from van, when i got to ed, (it was rainign the whole trip back) my t1r intake was alittle damp.

fit4kris will become famous soon enough
I wouldn't worry about it too much. I mean look at Evo's...I never had a problem with my Evo and a CF hood and the rain vent removed. And that was right on top of the turbo manifold.
