Anyone use a Porter Cable on a GE ?

Hi guys , I got my honda fit 2009 Black for 6 month now and I want to use my PC 7424 with it. Any good AIO polisher you can recommend me ? I will probably use a Blue or Black paint. The paint is soooo soft .

I use porter cables on all my details. Ive done about 5 Fits including mine. Check out the ones in my sig.

For a one step I recommend menzerna p203 with an orange pad if minor swirls and a purple foamed wool if swirling is moderate to heavy. Only use 4" pads with the porter cable.

My favorite combination is P203s with a 4" purple foamed wool. The purple foamed wool offers great correction and the P203 finishes down perfectly without hazing or hologramming. Also ready for LSP with a quick isopropyl alcohol wipe down.

Wow, I wouldn't have thought the wool pad would finish down that nice. I just picked up a few green, white and orange 4" pads for my PC, will keep that wool one in mind.

Normally it doesnt, although this a foamed wool pad which is less abrasive than a regular wool. Also the P203 finishes down really good, for some reason it just works great with the PFW. Although orange works very well too.

Well, this will be my first time using Poli Seal so it'll be a little learning curve for me. I'm going to try either a white or green pad and see how that goes. I'll probably use the 4" pads that I just got but have 5.5" pads if need be.

Stick with the 4" pads if your using a porter cable. They offer the best correction and can get around all the tight areas. Any bigger pads will only work great with a rotary.

I have 5 inch backing plate, and i like the 5 inch pads more. But, i have a smaller backing plate for smaller pads for getting into hard to get places.

I use my portal cable with Poli-seal. Its a nice all in one polish. I use my harder orange pad for more extensive work and finish up with the green pad. Adds nice depth, gloss, and clarity to the paint. I finish up with Opti-Seal to protect it.

you can use scratchx on a softer foam pad and should work.

also try Prima Amigo (glaze). thing works like a charm to fill hazes and light swirls. that's all i used on my dark blue cooper-s when i had it. the waxed afterwards.

I like zaino bros, and you can put it on by hands polishing, using a buffer will strip your clear coat off, but definitely work better.
i also find that zaino last a long long time....water beads off your car when you wash it
polish lasts longer then wax

Ok you obviously don't know what your talking about. Be specific, zaino has lots of products. Also polish is NOTHING like wax. It is an abrasive that acts like liquid sandpaper to remove defects and make the clear cloat level again. Using a buffer WILL NOT strip your clear coat off, all of the cars in my sig were done with a porter cable and they still very much have a clear coat. Polish does not sit on the surface of the paint like wax does, it diminishes using heat and friction. This is why applying a polish by hand is not the best way to go since you can't create enough heat to properly break down the polish. Wax sits on top of the surface to protect the paint.

I'm guessing he's mixing sealants up with polish. Zaino is overpriced junk anyways.

Are there any cheap Porter Cable alternatives out there nowadays? I used to have the one that everyone had a few years back that I picked up for like $150... not willing to lay down that much for a orbital at the moment though. So lazy that I'm just using Klasse Gray by hand instead of waxing the car properly lol.

Unfortunately porter cable is the cheap alternative. The proper way is to use a rotary buffer like a makita which costs about $180. I would recommend using a glaze. It acts just like a sealant but fills in scratches and swirls making them appear gone. Lots of fake detailers use this to fool people into thinking their car was polished. These are the guys that only take an hour on your car and charge you $20. I use it on my customers that only want a wash and wax.

Also zaino makes decent stuff. Their known for their durability but lack in the looks/gloss department. I use their clay bars and Z6 detailer spray as those two products are phenominal.
