Fit? is an unknown quantity at this point
New Fit, Swirl marks, and washing advice?

Just got a new 09 Fit Sport in Blue Pearl Sensation yesterday. Unfortunately they washed it and left a ton of swirl marks. A few questions I have are below:

1. Should I call the dealer and see if they will detail it for free since they left swirl marks or should I take it somewhere else for detailing?

2. I live in an apartment and have no place to wash my car here. I refuse to go to an auto wash and I'm not thinking the coin places are any good since the pressure is so high. What do you all recommend for someone in my shoes?

Loving the Fit so far minus the swirl marks!

Do not let the dealer touch the car, ever. They do not have the proper tools or knowledge to do a proper detail. To remove swirls you need a polisher and assorted polishes and pads. It takes about 6 hours of tedious polishing. It will cost you quite a bit though. I took my car home with the plastic still on it.

Go to a friends house or use a touchless car wash. Remember always use 2 buckets, grit guards, soft and clean mitts, and waffle weave microfiber towels. If not your going to put the swirl marks right back.

Heres some cars that Ive detailed.

Do not take it to a wash and wax guy you found on a flyer. They will promise you swirl removal but will just use a glaze and sealant that will fill in the swirls and make it look ok for about a week. Take it to a PRO. Look at his work before you hire him. It will cost you anywhere from $100-$300 for a full paint correction detail.

if the dealer messed it up the first time, they will mess it up again.

your best bet is to visit Octaneguy. he's in your area.
