Residual gummy film on body from bad dealer prep

Bought new Fit today and right after prep I sent the car back bcause noticed some of the gummy protective film they apply to the body to protect it during transit. They got almost all of it off, but after getting home I noticed just a little left near some of the hood edges.

While I could go back to dealer it's about an hour away. What's the best way to remove this clear sticky film? Gumout? Laquer thinner? Something weaker? Spit and vinegar?

WD40 is your friend.

wash and wax afterwards cause WD40 will also remove wax.

WD40 wouldnt remove it. WD40 is great at removing glue residue. But this is the plastic they cover the car in. Just remove the film with your nail and then if theres any residue try WD40 or gumout. If that wont get rid of it you can always use a clay bar.

Mine was prepped in a hurry as well. I used Honda Spray Cleaner & Polish to remove what residue didn't wipe off with my finger.

Congrads on your Fit and sorry they did not prep your car properly. Hope you get it all removed without any problem. Just be careful what you use
this paint is soft.

RC car motor spray. (one of my fav)



i thought you were talking about cosmoline. for cosmoline WD40 works great along with simplegreen, kerosene, etc.
