Rotten-egg smell

Rotten-egg smell
I've had the fit since July and have racked up about 12,000km. For the last couple of weeks I've noticed that within 5 minutes of leaving my home with the HVAC (heater) running, a rotten-egg or fart-like smell coming through the vent and disappearing agin within a minute.
Has anyone else noticed this or have a possible explanation? It has been fairly cold over the last couple of weeks...

Wow that's weird, it just hapened to me today for the first time, strong and persistant for a full minute! And I reached just over 10600Km on the odometer (or should I now call it Odormeter).
The MPV did the same thing untill I tripped 50K.
Apparently it has to do with the catalyser heating up to a critical temperature where it burns most but not all of the Sulfur contained in the exhaust gas.
Sorry for the bad news!

rotten egg smell is from the catalytic convertor. this is a common problem on Honda/Acuras. You just have to keep driving and wait it out. It'll slowly go away.
my smell didnt go away til 20k miles.

As I have mentioned in my earlier reply, A few years ago there were plenty of observations made by fellow members of the MPV Club about this unpleasent occurance.
It has to do with particular additive that some raffinery use for their brand of gas. It is worst in certain region and at certain seasons. And eventually the catalytic converter saturates and does not burn the sulfur in burst, so it does not "fart" anymore!
