Timing Chain on N.A. Fit?

The Fit/Jazz for N.A.; does it have a timing chain?
I'm assuming it does. I may have missed it in all the write-ups about it. Let me go check again.

I'm not sure. Remember this car has been being mad since '00. This would place it before the Timing Chain version motors in the states

A belt is quieter, but needs to be replaced at 60,000 miles (not good if it breaks); a chain is noisier, but will last as long as the engine.

Just download the manual and see for yourself.
That sounds like a good idea. Do you have a link? Thanks.

Maybe in the Southern US. In colder areas, Honda recommends following the severe condition intervals, and for the longest time, that also ment changing the timing belt at 60k miles.

Azanon, search button is your friend, there is a post with link
In the time it took you to type that, you could have cut and pasted the link. Thanks for nothing. Thanks for stating the obvious, btw. I already tried searching.

Anyone else?

There's a thread in this forum, about 15 posts down that says: "Where to get the service manual?". I would have looked there.

Here's the link: Where to get the service manual?

I posted a link to download the English service manual.

I dont manually scan individual thread titles for a specific answer. If you ask me, it should be stickied. This is the Fit forum and that's the manual for it. I think a lot of people would be interested in looking at it.

Thanks for the link though.

(edit) i pulled up your link which was supposed to be in english, and it came up in some symbols version. I tried looking for an english variant and i had no luck. Oh well.

What symbols? I just downloaded it, WinRARed the file, opened the HONDAESM.HTML file with Internet Explorer and everything is in english.

Sorry if I'm beating a dead horse, but searching for "service manual" or "repair manual" both point to threads with links to download this file.

That's true, except the drivetrain for (GD) NA Fits isn't on any prior Fits and has only been around since they came here in late '06.

Timing Chain

Hi everybody,
like a lot of people, I just found out today that my Honda Jazz , (it's called a Jazz in Europe) has a timing chain as opposed to a belt. The guy at Honda quoted me the normal pice for my upcomng service ,(120,000 kms) when I was expecting something a bit more hefty and in line with the head coming off.Isn't there anything else major that needs changing about this time? It's about 75000 miles.
Thanx
