Huge dent and scratch on fender.

Hi I was just in an accident, my fault. I would like to know how much you guys think it would cost to repair this. I do not want to report a claim to insurance, I would like to pay out of pocket.

heres a pic: ImageShack® - Gallery

just a rough estimate would be nice because I cannot take the car out as of now due to the tire also being flat.

Thank you.

Well the fender itself unpainted is about $210-230 shipped from any major honda parts online superstore, it's up to you to figure out if the labor to paint and purchase a new one (Approx $200-300 in Ohio, but labor is cheap here) so depending on how expensive labor is you may either want to purchase a new fender altogether or if you find a reasonable place, get yours banged out/corrected and they will basically sand down the scratched areas and blend it back in to the rest of the paint.

Those scratches look like the four my ex left on my Fit...

Let me give you an idea of how repairable the thin Fit metal is...My hood was bent and rattling after I got hit and run by a F-350...I stuck my knee under the hood with it popped up and bent it down and twisted it so that it no longer overlapped on the other fender. I'm not even a really strong guy and it looks as good as new now minus some paint damage from the accident.

Yea the accident was from hitting a mail box. The scratches arnt deep. But the dent is enough that i cant open the door. Can only open the door a bit before it starts to make a bigger dent.

Well don't make it worse dude and if it's making it bigger then you'll need to touch up maybe get some body work on the door as well, SO DONT OPEN IT!

Research a good body shop. Criteria like Guaranteed work, Fully controlled paint room, ASE Certified, 40+ years in the business (thats most places here) The best prices are after hours if you want a good deal on a repair, it's who you know!

Dude don't get reamed! I could get that fixed at IBS (Italian Body Shop, Westerville, OH) for cheaper than $250, In fact, my passenger fender is kind of messed up too and I'm paying half that because I'm not getting it painted there, just corrected and a ding pulled out while I'm at it.

Maybe double that because you're in Cali but seriously it's not a big deal.
