okay just finished making the setup to clear things up we are looking at 9.8k stock and 9.3 with the setup after we install it with the car off right???????????????????????????
okay did it and guess what it works does bring down the a/c temp by 6 degrees .compressor runs longer heres my stats car in doors indoor temp 89 degrees before vent temp 34 F on 36 off after 28 f on 29.5 f off using fluke 62 mini thermometer . only thing that i did diffrent was havent found a home for the switch want to see how i like the mod and i spliced onto the pink and blue wires further up incase i ever need to undo for extended warrenty good luck all. best part is i had everything at work LOL.
Wow yours wasn't too bad before. You get colder temps stock than I do at 200k. If that's a calibrated thermometer and you really are below freezing, don't use it for an extended period of time or it'll freeze up. For initial cooldown though it would be great. Good luck with the mod.
Word to the wise, I fried two resistors playing around yesterday with the soldering iron. It don't take much heat to ruin these things, I found out... thank goodness the multimeter found it.

yea but my car was indoor for over 12hrs so there wasnt any outside infitration of sun light heat which is what makes the ac feel so warm will try this weekend in the sun .
Yup, but if the others are wrapped and you put real big shrink wrap around the whole dingus you don't really have to. If you connected the bottom wire to that other prong the knob would adjust backwards but would still work the same way.
i wonder how hard it would be to make a potentiometer that had resistance dependent on temperature. like a climate control.
They make those and are called thermistors. The fit has one, we are just lowering its resistance to make the AC system think the vents are warmer then they really are.

ahhh...
ok
an adjustable thermistor that we can position somewhere else in the car, besides the oem one.
lol I swear I thought the whole thread was going to just say "turn knob to left" lol. I think I may have to try this some day. Not now, though. It's already getting cold again in Chicago
