Looking At A B1 Maintenance Interval

I like to maintain parts like CV boots by cleaning them and coating them with heavy duty silicone. The problem is that they are often hard to reach. What are your tricks for maintenance on CV boots, tie rod ends, etc?

I just hit the rubber "boots" on all those parts with silicone spray. This keeps the rubber supple.

I don't sweat the CV boots. I hit a different part of them every time.



Don't forget the sway bar end links, steering gear bellows, and lower ball joints.

DON'T spray the sway bar bushings...these need to stay tight.

Um, what do the sway bar bushings look like? I'm not sure I know. Maybe you could post a circles-and-arrows type pic?

By the way, what kind of spray-on silicone do you like to use on a job like this? Gunk Heavy Duty?

I just use a generic silicone spray.
