Scissor jack replacement

I was thinking of buying a compact floor jack that could replace my scissor jack, because I would like one I can use at home to change tires and take it with me in the spare wheel compartment. Any thoughts? I worried about using it on the roadside, however if I brought a small piece of plywood with me, could that work to hold the jack?

This wouldn't fit in the spare wheel compartment, but it's a great jack, especially for the price. It would fit behind the driver or passenger seat though, which is where I keep mine. I had to buy it when I lowered my fit. It's super easy to use and holds the fit up just fine with a 3000lb capacity.
