ATF oops

I have a 2007 base A/T and last week I had the dealer do an ATF drain and refill. The shifting seems more responsive than before which is good. The oops part is that my Fit has about 97K miles on it, and as far as I know, this is the first time it has ever had the ATF replaced! I have gone through life until the last few weeks unaware that the ATF was a regular maintenance item. I got the car used in 2008 with about 34K miles on it, so it is possible that the previous owner had replaced the ATF, but I have to assume the worst. I have not had any problems with the transmission, and I don't think my driving is likely to be hard on it. But I am still concerned about the transmission longevity since I want to keep the car forever (or close to it ).

The main questions I have now are:
  1. I have seen a thread where the OP suggests that after a long time of not maintaining the ATF, one should do a rapid sequence of drain and fills. Is that something I should consider doing?
  2. The dealer (as predicted by other threads) didn't acknowledge the existence of the ATF filter. Is this something that should be replaced at this point?

Thanks for any info!
