You have probably lost a solenoid/pressure valve in the tranny, reverse is usually a separate circuit so its still working. The shivs/pulleys relax in Neutral, a valve sets reverse then engages the pressure to the drive pulleys,, another valve just sets the pressure to the pulleys and away you go (NormallY) but in either case you likely need a dealer to plug in and run the diagnostics on the transmission. I don't think a generic machine will do it..

Good Luck.

One of those actuators might be it, its a electronically controlled gadget so there is always a chance that its the ECU but I think the solenoids are cheap(er) you should only need 1..

If you can get a factory service manual on the transmission there should be a test procedure for testing the valve body. The question is if you can do it without a Nissan diagnostic computer.. Solenoids are usually tested with an Ohm meter, should have a specific resisters between the pins, and no connectivity between either pin and the body of the unit(Short) but I don't know if nissan grounds theirs though the transmission or through wiring..

Hello,
i think this is the procedure that you are talking about
i will try it tomorrow
CVT Drive Pulley Pressure Control Valve Test (CVT)

Thank You

Thats where I'd start ,,, if its easily dismantled and you have it out of the car I'd definitely clean the passages in it with a nylon gun brush and some carb cleaner.. Blow it all out with air pre-lube with the CVT fluid and reassemble..

i have already cleaned the valve body ... but when i reassemble it i didn't put the cvt fluid, i have also noticed that there was a part of this valve body that it was supposed to have an in and out movement that was stick

Make sure your getting good electrical connections everywhere and test the battery, if the battery is not producing full cranking amps, it may be low on kick to make the relatively high current solenoids trigger as they should. I had several weird little things on mine that a new battery definitely helped.

I haven't tore the fit apart yet I just work on lots of weird cars..

Hmm. You'd think it would throw a code on a bad sensor, I'm betting your not getting hydraulic pressure to the shivs, there is a diagram around here somewhere that shows the fluid map of the CVT that honda uses, that might help narrow down the possibilities cause you are only trying to troubleshoot forwards... Since it works in revers thee hydraulic pump "should" be fine. Thats why I suspect solenoids / valving thats misbehaving.

Could the problem be the Starting Clutch that is dead ?

or a bad sensor ?

this is a diagram that i found

and i will try to clean this

Not 100% sure, but I believe when they say "clutch: they are talking about the action of or the way the pulley starts the process of squeezing the belt/chain to start the car forward, its not a traditional clutch mechanism. Whats interesting is I don't see a reverse valve on that thing, Does the CVT use a aux transmission to change directions? Like a internal mini gearbox that puts a planetary in and out of gear, I haven't found a good exploded diagram of the Honda CVT yet.

Hello,

i think the best cvt description of the cvt of honda fit can be found in this page :
CVT System Description (CVT)

the sensor that i have changed yesterday was wrong, i have put a sensor of the civic.

i will also ispect the ignitions coils, maybe i have a misfiring problems

what do you think ?
