I did too..... The intake sounds I am experiencing now aren't as deep and resonant with a super charger and the whirring sound from a super charger is having the same effect but is less intrusive at highway cruising speeds..... It's because of the smaller throttle openings needed and long intake boost tube, I think

I did not like the additional noise generated by the Mishimoto intake I had on my GD3, even though I really enjoyed the additional responsiveness and bit of extra oomph it provided.

I currently have an SHG_mike clone intake (stocker with all the chambers cut off and a larger connection to the throttle body) with an aFE Pro-Dry drop-in air filter. I just installed the filter a few days ago, so the jury is still out on MPGs. But the combination definitely has improved throttle response over stock. Also it feels as though the power curve is much smoother than either stock or Mishi setups; with both of those I could feel distinct surges in power delivery at around 2500 and 3500 RPMs. No surges with the SHG_mike/aFE combo, just smooth power delivery. The noise is at very nearly stock levels so no complaints there either.

well I was able to pull 437.4 miles in my last tank with a 10.058gal refill which yields to 43.48mpg. This is with the SRI and cruising at 55mph, 85% highway and 15% heavy traffic. I would say I will be stuck in traffic for about 30-40min which usually takes me 5-10min passing the same road without traffic. I'm not too impressed but the result is acceptable because I not deal with heavy traffic which I didn't when I achieved 483.xx miles in my previous tank. I also did not have to use FAS, P&G, shut the engine off on lights and etc.

^^ with my result above. It will be hard to tell if I gained or loss mpg because my driving condition is different compared to when I achieved 483 miles in a tank. I will have to reinstall my stock airbox and do some test and compare it to the result I have achieved today.
