replacement panel filters

I was wondering (since most people are probably more experienced at using replacement panel filters) do I need to use a cleaner/oil service spray on a brand new replacement panel filter? Or can I just shove it in straight from the box?

Reason I ask is because I picked up a Simota replacement filter for my Jazz when I was in Hong Kong, so don't know if I need to oil the filter up or whether I can just put it in straight from the box.

most of the time oiled type filters are pre-oiled or come with the oil for you to do it. If it's new I would say if it's not already oiled that it's a dry filter and doesn't need oiling. Assuming it came with directions I would read them and see what they have to say about it.
