Question Question about the header bracket.

I have just installed my Weapon R Street header and I love how it sounds and feels. However, I want to buy another support bracket that I can bend into shape to make it work.

This might be an easy answer, but would that be part #1 in this picture?

Thanks for any advice.

Yep, thats the one, I'm trying to remember what it is bolted to and can't right now. If you can't make it work don't worry too much, the header itself is plenty strong enough without the bracket.

the engine block.. id put a bracket on before the weight of the exhaust pulls the studs out of the head or something

Thanks for the feedback. I will probably get it done in the next month. I've got finals right now and the weather is too cold.

just modify your existing one and buy a new one when you go back to stock... all you gotta do it flatten it out more

Right on. My bracket is still attached to the old header, which is conveniently sitting in the back of the car.

I assume you just used a vice and some trial and error?

Not much chance of pulling anything loose of the head with the exhaust unless you snag your exhaust on something like a curb. The spring bolts will absorb most anything you will encounter on the street. My bracket lines up North-South but is off alignment by about three quarters of an inch left to right. I am content to just let the header rest on the bracket without screwing it down. My DC headers flange is about a half inch thick so I don't lose any sleep over it. It is a good idea to check your manifold bolts for tightness after about a week of driving after install regardless, HTH....
