Apparently, a dealer and/or dealers have been selling fake J's Racing 50R Titanium Exhausts to consumers. Here are some details to make the comparison:
*Notice that there's no badge.
Remember, J's Racing is premium stuff like Mugen & Spoon. If you paid little for it, you have to wonder if its real or not. There's not a huge mark-up on J's products. So if you see someone selling it for 20-30% off retail and its not used, its probably fake.
Please PM if you have any questions.
*Remember that youtube clip with the TW GD3? That's also a fake.

ooh, this is great information to have for those first time shoppers who wouldn't have known the difference -- short of having both axlebacks side by side.

Reason: type of metal
You'll also notice the alloy is different. The fake one appears to be made of aluminum rather than titanium or a mixture of it. Unfortunately, this is a bad example of a copy. There are more out there that have the J's Racing badge as well, but I haven't encountered any in North America.
actually that the aj racing edition of the j's axleback.

The exhaust that you have is REAL so there's nothing to worry about.
There is no AJ edition licensed by J's Racing. Sorry, if you purchased one. Its likely fake if it doesn't have a badge. Check the other thread and measure the diameter of the tip.
From all the threads going up, it appears many people bought this item.

IMHO, there is no USDM Version for this exhaust. T1R is a copy of J's Racing products, that might be a T1R Exhaust. Anyone know where T1R exhausts are made?
Besides, if J's was trying to promote their product in the US, why would they bother making an exhaust that is obviously not up to par with their original JDM version. Why not actually give first time customers the real quality that J's is known for.
Also, titanium has a specific inherent natural color. If you look at this pic of the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao Spain in which the entire outside is clad in titanium, the material has a bluish/purple tint that is not just a coating. Sorry this is the only pic I could find at the moment.
This is what's on our Fit.

hehe... the TW GD3 youtube video you mentioned is probably mine. I bought my "J's" during that Christmas promotion they had a year and a half ago. I was under the impression it was an "AJR edition" as well, but always wondered why it didn't have the badging, and why the tip was extra shiny, and not the more matte look that I see with the original J's. If you could get more information on this that would be great, I'm curious myself what went on. PM'ing you btw.
this is a "AJR edition correct" yours has just discolored on the canister. Or am i wrong? Because this one has the longer tip which the "real" J's exhaust does not
