J's racing, doesn't hang low because there is no resonator! Stupid lightweight because it's all titanium and it comes with a stupid crazy price tag to match!

The J's would probable be the least likely to scrap because it doesn't have the bulky resonator like most others do. Though for its price tag you would think it would be better quality. The next option might be the Spoon B-pipe. I have not had any problems with scraping it so far.

I have the T1R. I doubled over the rear hanger to raise the back end up; it is still lower than stock but not by much. I'm on stock springs, no scraping yet and I expect it won't unless I do something realllllllly stupid.

I have the aspec one. It's a two-piece mid-pipe with a sleeve-type section to make it a two piece. I LOVE it better then any one piece because i can push up the two piece design, and then tighten the bolt. It hugs it nice and high and doesn't scrape on my car at all!

Anyway does a B-Pipe really changes a thing power wise?? I know it's not Honda Related but on the Neon world, changing the stock mandrel bent 2¼ pipe for a 2½ dynomax would only increase noise even on a 190Whp Motor so a all motor fit with maybe 105 110Whp could make good use of the stock 1 7\8 sumthin pipe?? Anybody have a dyno graph?

Marko!

The MINI Cooper S engine was actually designed by the same team responsible for the Neon SRT-4. It would seem this team is as competent as they are modest. Though only rated at 163 hp at the crank, our MINI cranks out 166 hp at the wheels.

ok just found the thread on neons.org...

These are general guidelines I calculated from David Vizard's formulas.

1. For avoiding significant restriction from back pressure, the pipe should flow at least 2.2CFM per horsepower produced.
2. A straight pipe will flow ~115CFM per square inch of area (using inside diameter of the pipe)
3) I used the formula: (115*pi(diameter/2)^2)/2.2
4) The pipe size will become more restrictive the further you go above the zero loss horsepower.
5) Similarly, try not to go too big on piping for your set up. I think Vitor dynoed 2.5 vs 2.25 on a 160whp set up and had very minimal gain. Putting 3" on your stock Neon will be very loud for no good reason!

Add length as a factor! Please note also than each 90° bend will reduce flow by approx. 8%.

Exhaust Diameter (inches): 2
Zero loss Horsepower 164.22

Exhaust Diameter (inches): 2.25
Zero loss Horsepower 207.84

Exhaust Diameter (inches): 2.5
Zero loss Horsepower 256.59

Exhaust Diameter (inches): 3
Zero loss Horsepower 369.49

Exhaust Diameter (inches): 3.5
Zero loss Horsepower 502.92

Exhaust Diameter (inches): 4
Zero loss Horsepower 656.88

it is not the resonator that scrapes
it is the 2nd pc of the pipe after the resonator that for some reason bents down.....that part scrapes the most !

i want a custom 70mm pipe now

as a temporary fix you can use worm clamps to pull up the hangers about a half inch or so to minimize the scraping. if i had known this sooner, i wouldn't have sold my megan b-pipe... ohh well

Was thinking about geting the ASPEC B-Pipe bc I got the ASPEC axle-back exhaust. Just wondering about the ASPEC B-Pipe and if it would scrape????

as far as I can tell, both the aspec and megan b-pipes are identical and hang low. Whether you'll scrape of not depends on how low you are, your driving skill, and how well you know the street you're driving on.

I always got hung on my appartment driveway because I was too low and I suck at driving

Never had any problems with my aspec pipe when I was on Tanabe springs.
I scrape a little on my steep driveway once in a while now that I'm on Skunks c/o.
