just wondering, but i've worked for honda for 6 years and i haven't actually been this excited about a new release since the 99-2000 si. anyways, i tried the HFP muffler and found that it sounded pretty good, but as we were changing it back to stock, my friend said " go ahead and start it up without any muffler at all" , since it has a resonator before the end of the B pipe. so i thought " what the hell can't hurt anything!" to me it sounds better than most aftermarket " farrrrrt cans out there today"
if you have some free time, and don't have an aftermarket exhaust yet, go ahead and try it, it really surprised me........ especially when you hit about 5k- and up on the RPM's.... sounds really good. plus i did notice a "butt dyno of difference"
lots o' fun

Haha, that's somethgin i've done on a lot of my cars for a few minutes just for fun. It's called "unbolting" the exhaust. On my celica gt-s the car sounded like a freaking F1 car. My protege5 sounded really mean and felt a lot faster, and my WRX was DEFEANING and it sounded SUPER MEAN. It was hot I'm gonna try the Fit later on too
Tre
You should hear how it sounds with just header, no cat and no exhaust...now that is what you call loud...not as loud as those annoying Harley's, but very close.
Other than the legal issues with running without a muffler on the car, will this HURT the car in any way? I'm going to try this over the weekend and I have a feeling I'm going to like the sound... If so I could run a dummie pipe and leave the stock muffler off

as far as dammage? No there is no hurt. Running no muffler will be about the same volume as running a racing muffler with no resonator. The factory resonator is basicaly a straight through perforated core muffler.

you may like the sound. i do.
and until they come out with an exhaust i like, i'll continue to do without the stocker.
Can you post vids of your car? outside and inside, please
If you are asking in ref to running without a muffler, I'll post pics this weekend. I'll also try to get a vid clip so everyone can hear it. I can't wait...

expect things to start melting inside the spare tire area.
if u like it, get a muffler shop to make u a straight pipe from there. shouldnt cost no more than 40 bucks. bring ur stock muffler with u cuz they'll need a flange.
